Will this patch be backwards compatible?
Can ongoing epics in epbm and pitboss continue after being patched?

... and the players involve shouldn't matter. It seems that if it was a player some were friendly with the ruling would be OK. Absolutely! The decision should be based upon the situation, not on who is playing.

I think it's kinda weird that the CIV4 game even allows the opportunity for someone to win the game while being afk for 1/2 hour while the game is running. Not much "intensity" in that.

My observation after being HTD on the c3c ladder for a long time is that tournaments are more likely to be successful if they are held consistently with the same format and same time/day.
I believe that the current HTD here demonstrated that over at the c3c ladder.

Thanks for the link; I have no problem with the policy; but I'm having a problem with the implementation in this particular case. The policy states: You can criticize someone's ideas or actions, but not their parentage nor self-worth.I expect the deleted post(s) did criticize actions. I don't think they were flames. Having a good policy is one thing, living by it is another.

Don't worry Whip this league is not in the process of destroying it self. One personality conflict is a small bump in the road. And as to the forum moderation, some may think that this should be a FFA, well that it will not be. This is a forum for a game that attracts players of all ages, and this forum will have standards. Speaker may have acted to hastily to necro's specific post, but taken within the context of all the posts(remember that humour is not always apparent in text) that contributed to this atmosphere it he was not acting outside our policies. CS I'm not saying there should be no standards. I doubt that the deleted post(s) were not suitable to be viewed by "players of all ages". What I'm saying is that people should not be censored merely for disagreeing with an admin action. Maybe you should post "our policies".

It is a blatant abuse of power for ANY admin to delete a post and then post comments on the content of that post.
This forum should be about free dialog. Right or wrong, people need to have the right to being heard. To delete a post and then criticize what was written without the membership being able to see it is heavy-handed. This kinda stuff will kill the league.

What if that 8 secs was reduced to 1 sec and you dont only have to worry about just a single calture bombed city. And you dont already have your cats selected because you can predict the move about 15 turns before he even does it? Exactly!

The point leader in a C3C cton should expect a stack to come. You are the target!
Wether CIV4 or C3C is the better game is not a very good question. The games are different and each will have fan appeal to different groups. The biggest difference is that C3C has more "tension". The end-of-turn surprise attack at whatever location comes as a big surprise to the defender. The attacker carries this out with split second timing. These surprise elements and tense moments don't exist in CIV4. CIV4 just doesn't have the 'white knuckle' element.
On the other side CIV4 is a much "richer" game in terms of strategic options.

From Apolyton:
If you were wondering why there hasn`t been a patch for Civilization IV: Warlords yet and if it`s still coming, wonder no more. The good news is that Firaxis designer Alex "alexman" Mantzaris announced in our forums that a patch is in the works (some time ago actually, but we missed it). The bad news is that it won`t be released before mid-October, not because it isn`t ready yet but because of scheduling issues with Quality Assurance (QA), who need to test and approve the update before it can be released (to make sure it doesn`t cause more problems than it fixes).

Quickest and easiest is to take a screenshot just before launch. Save that file and check it for player names later.

The fact that the two games are somewhat different does not explain to me why the "personalities" of the two ladders are in such contrast.
It seems to me that there is a sharp difference in maturity level between the players on the two ladders. I don't have an explanation for this. Rank-hording and rank-hounding are much more pronounced on the CIV4 ladder. They are practically nonexistent now on the C3C ladder.

3. You MUST report in order of rank, and yes if you don't know everyones current rank you MUST look it up before reporting. Correct me if im wrong but rank doesnt go down when reporting unless the other player is directly above you. So it shouldn't matter in terms of rank what order you report in. That's not the point. The problem is leapfroging of the ranks of those below the high rank reporter.
