It's good that pretty is thinking hard about how to make the game more interesting. This is a nice attempt to "refresh" the competition.
How about continuing to play at Noble but with no goody huts and outlawing Slavery?

I lament the fact that Firaxis did not give us a GUI editor. Mods is the only reason the C3C ladder is still active.

Ladder activity always drops off some when the warmer Spring weather comes.

And IMHO the difference between harassement and decent is that harassement is aimed at an individual, descent is aimed at policies and procedures. If I was going to censor descent your posts in this thread would not be here either CS Good distinction!

Whip I'm not going to debate endlessly with you, I well know your opinions. We(the C4P admins) have always enforced a policy that players can not harass or abuse other players. MrGt's post was just that, the issue was already solved by the admin team to his and our satisfaction and should have remained private. MrGT took the issue, after the fact, to the forums for nothing more than his amusement at the expense of a former admin. I chose to remove it as it was clearly harassment and had no place in a public forum in the first place. You can disagree with my actions but the reasons, IMHO, are sound. If we had not promptly dealt with his complaint then he might have been justified in taking his case to the forums, but that is not what happened. There was no censorship, just the application of our policies. If I wanted to censor MrGT I certainly would have done so well before now as we all know he likes to post "interesting" threads. CS Well, now I'm confused. Maybe it's just the terms being thrown about, like "slander". You say "there was no censorship" but didn't you remove his post? If so, regardless of "policy" it is censorship. Where is the line between "harrasment" and descent? Is criticism of an admin, in this case former admin, not allowed by "policy"?

If it's posted here or printed in the newspaper the word to use is libel, not slander. The more general term is defamation.
To qualify as either, the message must be presented as fact when it was actually untrue. Saying FP suxxx as an admin is not defamation, no "fact" is presented but merely an opinion or value judgement. I could write a similar message regarding the mayor of this town and submit it to the local fishwrapper for publication with no fear of being accused of defamation.
If MGT would have said that FP peeks into the women's restroom using a spying device he installed, that would be defamation.
As far as Case's Terms of Service (which is often used by admin's as an excuse for censorship) goes, there are only prohibitions against the following:
Profanity Illegal Content Pornography Promotion of racism or violence Hate speech

If the post is not restored is that not censorship?

There is no rule that states you have to give someone a courtesy email but it is good sportsmenship. CS More importantly, it reduces the workload for the admin's.

Stinky was a jewel. Not only was it a joy to be killed by him after some brilliant surprise move, he was fun. Usually he was very quiet but would occasionaly bark out something very funny. "I'd do her".

To get a mod off you also have to have it rather simple or basic. Massive changes in the game mechanics is a turn-off to players. They just won't invest the time in learining to use something that is very unfamiliar.

Without good mods this community will die rather quickly. Nobody enjoys playing the same old thing for very long.
The C3C ladder is still going after 3 years only because some of the players made mods which sparked the interest of other players looking for something new. Without these mods that ladder would have been dead long ago.
Over this weeked the C3C ladder played it's CCC. Seven clans and maybe 100 players participated. Of the 15 events all but 3 were mods.
I think it was a big mistake by Firaxis to not include a GUI editor. I've had fun mod making; but I don't want to learn Python or XML.
