what bugs me about these screenies:
1.single unit graphic's NOT chosen 2.effects/animations NOT dissabled 3.graphic quality not low
I dont realy care how good your graphics card is or how much ram u got this is MP so turn them nutss off and down to minimum and life will be less laggy for all of us.

Ya i've seen that list before and I think it's useless, I mean how could literacy be so far ahead of alaphebet on the list, it just doesn't make any sense. I have gotten a pretty good idea of what techs you get from great people especialy since ladder games are a limited variety of scenarios you get a pretty good idea of when it can be profitable to burn a great person into a tech.

There are definately strats people use to move first. I don't have very many good ones cause some people beat me all the time but here's a few basic pointers:
1. Always have minimize pop-ups selected in your options. 2. You can select the unit before the turn ends, and it will be automaticaly selected at the start of next turn (you don't have to pre-program every other unit and wait for the one you want to be selected) 3. After you select the unit press 'c' to center it on the screen. 4. When the timer hits zero start mashing your button like a contestant on jeopardy and pray to whatever gods your civ worships.
That's all I really got but I know theres more to it than this. I've noticed that the people who tend to be the fastest of the fastest also tend to not end their turns. This seems pretty ass-backwards to me but maybe you are more likely to lag is u ended your turn or something like that.
This whole move first thing is probably the single most biggest flaw in civ as I see it, especialy with the lag factor and if it really encourages people to drag out every turn to full value I could see myself moving on from this game sooner than later.

Hey guys as most you know I have teh steam version, well I was really happy when I first logged into staging with new patch and didn't show as *MOD* so I guess they actually fixed that problem but it seems like there might be a much larger issue now which is that 3 out of 3 games i've tried so far have all gone OOS on turn one, I really hope they havn't replaced the mod issue with this one which is about a million times worse. Only thing I can think to do now is complete system clean and fresh install and hope I have some better luck.

Sorry MDR dudes 5:00 AM is a hurting start time lol. I should've checked that before I agreed to play it. I would've been there anyway but my comp did an automatic update after I went to sleep and then rebooted, turning off my alarm, doh! Hopefully Sanko doesn't noob it up like usual

and my other 2 cents...
I like medi games on highalnds myself, 3v3 or 4v4 works well on small toroidal highlands, try it out sometime.
As for the 1v1 just make it anon then no one knows what the other guy picked until launch.

I agree for the occ cton indu u should never have more than 7 players it's totaly unfair to the person who doesn't get religion.
My only real question/ concers is that I have no idea what HB_tournament map is or where to get it. I got the other HB maps some weeks ago and know lots of ladders have played on them and are familiar with them but no one I talk to seems to know what this map is and since that's the only event I'm probably playing in it makes it rather difficult to plan our strat.
I guess that won't be a problem for the certain clan with the certain person who designed the map...

If the developers really have confirmed that then I take back what I said about you guys not deserving to win. I still think the decision was hasty but all's well that ends well I guess. I think the admins should set a precedent for future ccc's and have the team with the highest score win the event.
Congrats RaY on a deserved ccc win.

Well this was a really poor ruling imo. If in fact the first post of this thread is correct and team 1 has priority then I could see a need to change many rules, or quit playing such a stupid game all together, but I find that very hard to believe and am leaning much more to the rng to determine order at the start of every turn theory (wasn't that part of the 1.6 patch?)
It would make alot more sense to just go with the game's decision than start throwing extra points into the mix. I also agree with Tony that there's no difference between a final victory condition rng and any other rng throughout the game. If I lose a game cause my city dies on the last turn when I'm ahead in points because it loses a 50/50 battle, should I be given extra points? I mean i was winnign, but the game gave the last coin toss to them. Of course I shouldn't win, that's a load of crap. MDR won that match, the ruling was hasty and poor and I just wanna give props to the real winners of this CCC, the GOD clan.

That player can now buy grenadiers in all his cities every turn. You should only lose 1 city at the start this way - the first city to spot the enemy - which you can take back once you have bought enough grenadiers. grens dont get bonus defending so why not build rifles?
