wow very long, for those who are in a hurry here's Heriocs post with just the main points in. 1)it's dissapointed some people cause it's a quantum leap from what c3c was, meaning it's going to take a while to learn so palm your kids off on your wife, lock the door and pretend you got HN51 strain of the flu for a couple of weeks. I'm paraphrasing a tad here. That is all

We have been getting warnings for months now that civ4 would be nothing like civ3. Do you really feel the game itself is bad or could it be something else? Do some not like adjusting to change? Did some develop a comfort zone with civ3 and don't want to leave it for civ4? Do some not want to have patience to learn civ4? Have some become hooked on instant gratification and feel civ 4 doesn't give them that?

For those of you who have always wondered whether or not The Goddess was really a female, her tagline proves that SHE indeed is. ;D

My 2cents I wouldn't call it a waste and in fact think it is very good value But all the comments and stuff leading up to it were misleading. EG. Soren "Simplify Simplify Simplify" now I happy it didn't get simplified but I was looking forward to a beautifully and easily designed interface which besides the improved graphics have failed to impress me, micromanagement in Civ III conquest was easier delegated to AI, the modding packages slipped and separate and finally their are some more minute nuisances. On the + side Religion works well, graphics are beautiful, sound is good, MP great and countless positive subtleties that enhance the game substantially. I favor the new combat system as it allows for many possibilities based upon the users customizations and once used to is a pleasure in MP I'm glad I bought it but really it didn't really do that much different from civ 3 and is only a slight improvement but nevertheless an improvement worth investing in as civilization is a quality strategy game and civ 4 is no exception

I agree waiste of 50 bucks. The days i rushed home with civ2 and civ3, i installed them and loved them both from the get go. Civ 4 is hella lame. if they want a dam 3d map why dont they do it like they did alpha centari. now that was a stratigy game
