I think I could top this with a United Nations team BTW I'm aware this is a dig at the Commonwealth Team, but the difference is there is common heritage with the four countries that are in the Commonwealth Team (Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Britain) in that Britain is their mother country and they were/are the Dominion Colonies of the British Empire. NATO, well that is a defensive Alliance that in real terms is rather obsolete.

I here by make and exectutive decision to throw The Dominion of Canada into Team BC(as we only have 6 players), God Save the Queen! CS Glad to have you with us...now to get rid of all the anti-Canadian things on the forums Rokkit says being part of a British Commonwealth Team doesn't float his boat, but I'm really pleased to see we'll have a team worth fielding coming together, even if we don't win we'll be able to make a good job of participating. Thanks. Forum link for Canadian players: ncteamgb.proboards76.com/index.cgi?

Team Australia and Team Great Britain are to merge and form Team: The British Commonwealth. Any players from New Zealand, India, South Africa, Australia or any Commonwealth Nation are welcome to enlist. United we stand, together we'd fall a la WW1 & II! Our forum address is: ncteamgb.proboards76.com/index.cgi?board=nccAnd we should get a good roster of players that can play across the weekend, as our timezones will stretch. As there is a team Canada at present and we'd not like to subtract from their efforts to field a National Team I will direct Canadians to team Canada and not this team. civ4players.proboards44.com/index.cgi?board=nc&action=display&thread=1178595186

The Commonwealth Team (United Kingdom, Australia & Canada) Pretty certain all playing have been born in these three countries or live there presently. The members are: sausageface billy3fingers papercut prettyhatemachine dus3d TheMightyBoosh bantams Tony[CIV] [GOD]DeviousDevil ivat_tattaquer Penny Churchill1 silknfur IanDC caeru71 [KC]BulldogaKq PeteTheCivilzed CanuckSoldier Bopper AmysthKight LKT-Biz Hobba Spiffincat Conquistador45 Niumberonemercury That is 25 on paper. Rokkitlauncher is off for the time being in place of ivat_tattaquer. We're here to help people have fun this tournament and maybe win a few games along the way. Please take note of my recommendations for a future Nations Cup from this thread as this event is too big and requires too many people: civ4players.proboards44.com/index.cgi?board=nc&action=display&thread=1180653398Peace.

Well maybe for frenchies just not play the following NC. I have nothing to say more. We will deeply think about your words before play again NC. I have never been so insulted by someone in this forum. You dare to suggest that team1 has lost by agreement with team2? chris. No I don't seriously think it, but I do think that event 14 was influenced by nationality due to the reasona I gave above as Matth did not speak the truth on three counts.

-You say in the event 14 we killed you and not fr1 because we cheated or maybe because you was so far better and was better for us to dont have you in the final. That is what sparked my suspicions. The reasons Matth gave for attacking us and the other French team not at all. Had you said, you were weaker, we wanted it over and done with already then nothing suspicious about that. What WAS suspicious was the reasons given: 1. You had more coastals - was first reason. Retort, we did not share sea zones, so that wasn't of any significance. 2. You were the greater danger. Retort, that my partner was a novice to Future and so it was hardly a scary team. When I suggested favoritism because it was a French team, I got the retort that they had been playing each other and beating each other all weekend. So I checked that out and not once did France 1 beat France 2, not even once in 5 encounters. I don't doubt France is the best Nation at Civ4 at the moment based on 4 quality clans, MDR winning the CCC and some top notch players. But, don't lie to us that in event 14, you cleared us out instead of your countrymen rather than sit back because of favouritism and it does look bad that France 1 can't win against you in 5 events, shouldn't they be called France 2?

this is known as the Rokkit civ-picking technique and should be used for all events both in nation's cup and CCC I echo Rokkit's idea to pick civs, we mentioned this technique a few months back but didn't get much of a response. I see no reason why the annoynomous setting cannot be checked while the civ selection is occurring. With this setting teams can play with different type of lineups that opposing teams may or may not be ready for. On this point, every game I played in (alot then) we used this technique of picking civs, it is the only way to stop people just picking on the basis of who picked last. Course it leads to some chuckles, like when we faced an all England civ French team, and we were all chuckling when the CSA RaY 1337 team all picked non-Russian and English Civs in the Industrial (up until the moment they owned us).

Anyone else think this is strange... France 1 play France 2 five times this tournament and each time France 1 loses - surprise, surprise France 2 wins tournament. 5 games possibly not in doubt and given point structure just one win takes you into the points for certain. In Event 14, 2 French teams in 1 semi and one team sits back does nothing but threaten really apart from a late boating attack and the other team clears the non-French teams. Cooincidence? I can't prove anything, but it doesn't look good. If another Nations Cup is done, you can't have two teams from one country in my view, especially in 2vs2vs2vs2 and especially if they aren't competitive, one team ALWAYS beating the other ain't, it is points padding. Think an exception would be the Americans having a Conferderate and a Yankees team as they have form for fighting tooth and nail...maybe they'd have been more fight in France 1 had they been the Vichy French and the other team the Free French...

Over use of HB maps!! Those maps are pretty much for OCC only, they suck toooooooooo much in earlier eras. Pretty much destroys what civ is all about, thinking on your feet. HB maps don't even do what they're suppose to do, ensure late era resources for all civs in a occ.

teamaussie: Sausageface Matlowe Longhorn PaperCut PrettyHateMachine Marak now I know why games with these nice guys have allways been horrible lagfests Is Longhorn Australian? Guys, I'm not confident that team GB will be able to really make a go of this Nations cup, so I was wondering if you Aussies would be up for having a "Commonwealth" or "British Commonwealth" team instead and so merging. Any players from Commonwealth countries, such as Canada, Australia, Britain and New Zealand would be welcome as would other Commonwealth members. I'm discussing this with the team GB people today, but what would you guys think? Given the timezones this cups events cover it'd be great to have both British and Aussies involved. Soo...would Team Australia be up for merging with Team Great Britain and become Team: "The British Commonwealth" or "The Commonwealth"? If we were to merge, we've got a forum to use, plus we'd be able to fill all events comfortably, something I don't think we can manage on our own.

List of players at present:
GEFORCED - not on ladder. Hopefully can sort that out. EMAILED TheMightyBoosh - EMAILED Wooly - NOT ON LADDER. NO EMAIL ADDRESS bantams - GOOD TO GO Tony[CIV] - TO SIGN UP AT FORUMS [GOD]DeviousDevil - GOOD TO GO [9]iron - MILK IN LAPTOP. UNLIKELY TO PLAY Rokkit - GOOD TO GO Penny - GOOD TO GO Churchill1 - EMAILED silknfur - GOOD TO GO IanDC - GOOD TO GO caeru71 - EMAILED [KC]BulldogaKq - EMAILED PeteTheCivilzed - GOOD TO GO
So, we have 7 players confirmed and on our forum and hopefully more to add to that list. What I've to determine is the level of involvement of some people and whether they really should be on the team sheet if we can get a more active person on.

As a former citizen of the United Kingdom I shall answer her majesty's (and DD's) call to arms. Thanks NOM. I'll be looking to do a roll-call pretty soon to see who we really have in our team. We can have up to 16 people, I'm wanting to have a team with 16 people all of whom will be up for playing as there are alot of events to cover and to maximise our chances and to put on a jolly good show we need to fill all. At present [9]Iron says he can't play as he pour milk into his laptop...Geforced looks unlikely, though hopefully I can talk to him and get him playing in this competition and I'll be chasing up some others. I really hope team Aussie merges with us and so we'll have 16 really keen and active players ready to give those Americans, Frenchies, Latinos and Germans a good thrashing

Thanks Bantams for making that website, we'll need to be well organised to ensure we really take part this Nations Cup. I'm not optimistic about winning it, but lets do our best and have abit of fun at least and make it a good tourney that'll be worth doing again.

Geforced withdrew from the ladder (for the upteenth time) and I don't think he'll beg to get back on to play the Nations Cup, which is a shame.
[9]Iron was a complete moron and poured milk into his computer and now it doesn't work, so it is highly unlikely he'll be playing either.

Detracts from the whole quality not quantity lark.

Any chance you'd want me in the team ? That would be fun to play with you guys, also, that would be good to play with different players for a while Great Britain has always had Belgium's back, especially in the First World War so yes I'd be cooling with playing/fighting alongside a Belgian. Hell, weren't the Belgica part of the many people that make Britons British? Hehe ;D
