After saying that often how bad this game is - i m still addicted, so I want a fine running game. we all know that developers made a big mistake to publish game before it was ready - only the devil knows why they did so there are some soo bad bugs and no thinkings that it really looks a bit like there was no1 testing this game or having ever played civ3 mp before What we need now is a PATCH I wana gather in this thread problems and bugs u guys have noticed so that developer knows what to work on I know that there are 100 things in my mind which need to be improved - I wana start shich some important things: gs lobby - no way that there ll a big mp community with this lobby - u need to be abale to task switch to lobby! - u need to be ably to pm everybody - u need to be able to mute - starting game pls on top of the list - no crash every 10 seconds - today it was all down at least for me - log in made my pc frezee SP - need to link units and other stuff to civelopia - civilopia menu and links are also screwed - this is very important to have fun in first hours of gaming - monk bug (ai can use it i cant) to be fixed - alos this religion system seems not to be fully developed - shouldnt cap be founder and not some small outside city? also spreading religion in mp to other civs didnt work for me - there s somehow no way ai wana trade with me - we are neighbours and we have differnet religions so we cant trade ? wtf? not made a singe aggressive move and we got quite same streght MP - quite often there this out of synch red message - sometimes rejoining help sometimes it dont - closed spots between players in setup lobby screw game - once allways war and alliances was put on in a teamer - we couldnt declare war or enter others teams lands timer should slow down in later stages of game atm blazing quite ok for 1. 40 turns but after that its much too fast - it need to slow down every turn a bit with fast 1. 60 turns or so are too slow - futre startup units are bs - too many - there are still problems like this guy cant connect to the other - or quite often i need to try 5 times to connect to a agme tbc

yesterday was my first time in civ4 mp mode: in lobby it crashed 10 times in less then 20 minutes.. then i finally joined a game with nero, mezi and another funny dude that got spanked from me and nero but in the game a very ugly stuff happened.. mezi attacked me, i got 1 warrior home and another produced when mezi gonna attack my city.. what happened, mezi attacked me and said kill.. but only him saw that kill, all the others saw me in life.. then he continued playing and then saw the other dude near me got killed as well.. so in the end.. he was playing a totally different game! we checked also.. he joined nero land with some units, nero had not that units in the land and moreover mezi was seeing a totally different map. That can be fun.. but is really sad to see this stuff in 2 years TESTED game ^__^

gs lobby - no way that there ll a big mp community with this lobby - u need to be abale to task switch to lobby! - u need to be ably to pm everybody - u need to be able to mute - no crash every 10 minutes Agreed 100 % huh? You mean new games at top of list? That would be easier than clicking the phone icons twice to switch it over to "New games on top of list" mode. that sucks

In your SP comments, with the exception of your first point, the rest is all due to your lack of knowledge of the game. I have no idea what this monk bug is you speak of. Elaborate. If you're refering to Missionaries, you need either a Monastery of that Religion built in a city to build it, OR have Organized Religion civic on. Why must it be your capital? I think it's random, and I hope it is. But I like it founding in smaller cities. The only thing a different religion will do is create a 1-5 Hate Rating between the two of you. (We're upset you've fallen under the sway of a heathen religion) Your actions to date, whether you've told them to F-OFF when they demand something from you, what the AI's general Attitude is. What position you have, what position they have. This is not a Get used by the player AI. They AI has goals, and it plays by them. It's not their to help you win. It wants to win. In my game, I have two defensive alliances, and a few civs that want me dead. The Diplomacy aspect of this game in SP is it's highlight, not a detriment. Religions arn't being founded in MP games probably because it's a cton or such. You have to have a trade route with the city for their to be the possibility of it. OR you need a missionary. And Missionaries are killed by Enemies. You need open borders, and thus trade possibility for you to have the religion flow to an opposing city. Would work well in FFA's I'd assume. Be nice to know where to backstab In Conclusion. Before people comment, learn the game. Patches fix bugs, they are not to fix people's ignorence of the rules put before them. All I can say is it took alot of people alot of time to get the rules for diplomacy from C3C. In CIV4 they're given to you. How hard can this be? Edit: Modified it a bit.

I agree with your statements for the lobby. It is horrible and needs to be fixed. Word is, it's being fixed as we speak. Further a little birdie told me it'll be around this week.

I haven't found any references here in civ4player land but i have seen other people with the same problem. Please tell me if i'm being ignorant of some new rule here. At the very begining i see nothing at all but units. I have thus called this black terrain bug. I move units and i still see black. is that right?(will post screen shot if people don't belive me) and another funny thing is what people have been calling ... cat. Don't remember the ... part. reminds me of alice in wonderland though go here as i can't get any of the stupied link buttons to work in this forum to see what i'm talking about www.geocities.com/studsoccer06/noface.JPGI would be scared poopless if i was britain btw:P

If your cities have trade routes with foreign Holy Cities and don't have a religion in that city, they will get that religion. It can then spread throughout your country thus'ly. If you found a religion, and it can trade with other foreign cities, AND those cities don't have ANY religion in them, they'll become yours. Baring any of that. You'll need to make a Missionary Unit and send it into their land.
As for your diplomacy skills. There are many ways to make someone like you. Give them something for free and it'll boost their(Our Trade Relations have been Good)
If there is something on their side that is in red, it means they won't trade it with you no matter what.
Put your mouse over it what it is you want, it will TELL you why it won't trade with you for that.
If it's we just don't like you enough, then improve your relations with them.
Depending on the play style of the AI you're playing they may not trade a tech with you even if they like you. Just as you might not want to trade Military Tradition or Gunpowder around.
You know, Diplomacy in this game is easy, and there is this thing called a Manual, Use it.

Maybe a problem with a type of Graphics card? Does it happen to all leaderheads or just that one?

Exactly what type of Card and system do you have?
Baring in mind I probably can't help you, but someone else may.
I myself have a 2ghz Pentium 4, 128mb Radeon 9600XT AGP with 512mb Ram and have no problems.

2.66ghz pentium 4, Radeon 7500 and 512mb RAM.
Thing loads up and everything. I'm guessing it's my graphics card, but the website said that my card was the fine. Unless they've changed specs..
But don't get me started on why a strategy game has a need for a souped up graphics card. Anyway you can add new ones to laptops or am i stuck with C3C

well................ increasing your RAM to a gig should take care of that problem (making up for weaker graphics card) or spend the same amount of money for a newer 128 or 256m/graphics card
either way, it's going to cost 75-100.00/american to do either (and TWICE that amount in canadian'BUCK$$$, lol)
I just changed to the Radeon 9500 AND a gig or RAM, it runs excellent graphics even on the "low/minimum" game graphic settings (now letting me play 8-12 people on the largest of maps).
Not just for the game but it enhanced my overall computer power and will likely be good for another 2-3 years (or until civ5 comes out - prepatched).

never buy a videocard based on how much ram it has. 6800GT 128mb is A LOT better than 9600XT 256mb for example...

So unfortunately your goin to have to upgrade. My buddy is havng the same problem.

Please implement colonies
occ is designed in but colonies arent?? wtf? occ is unplayable without colonies - at least its all about luck without em
in last game I tried highland map - and was set to a spot with ALL (2-3 grass in cap) tundra.
iron and horse as strategic resourses were more then 5 tiles away from cap - so i had to get cities for em - but cities in tundra tend to not grow beyond 4 science slowed down - till it reached 0
beside the problem that there were no other spots (only the cap location of my neighbour) for a useful city
why do i have to screw myself for getting a resource? how shall i get a resource in occ?
we need colonies - just cause they were imlemented in civ3 they arent a bad concept - thats like desogning a new car and make it with 3 wheels just cause it shall be new

Yeah, what were they thinking; OCC without colonies?
Even in a regular game colonies would be a good idea. Without them you may be forced to build a corrupt, vulnerable city in order to secure a resource. This makes the start game luck more important.
