support from taketwo in uk was great
and i have no problem with bad peers since i got a new modem and opened port 2056
so maybe the bad peer problems are gone for some ppl
but the patch will be good when and if it is released due to the time they have spent creating and testing it
and are they actually gonna make a new patch anyway?
who said they were in the first place?

this now really very soon is kinda getting a joke
this "it s now really very soon" is out there since 1 month now - after the "soon" 3 month ago and the "bit delayed but very soon" 2 month ago

"very soon" is the firaxeon equivalient to "dog years"
one week in Firaxis land is 7 weeks in reality.
Thus, it's only been about 4 weeks since the last patch....
seems like a LOT longer, eh?

I hope the pending patch will fix many of the connection problems, bugs and exploits. In all honesty, I don't think it will. Soon after the next patch, the expansion will be released and a whole new pile of issues will arise and we will probably be right back where we are now. (And where we have been since the release of civ3ptw) I am VERY disappointed after all the promises that have been are are being made.
I have a message for Sid Meier if by some chance he should happen to read this thread. Sid, when its time to start thinking about civ5, fire Firaxis, fire Take2 and abandon the peer to peer concept. Instead hire Blizzard entertainment to produce a client/server version of civilization and produce a game that you can take pride in having your name on the box.
On a less serious note, I would like to point out that for the first time in over a year, I am actually agreeing with MMV. Someone shoot me.

I think MMV you should be careful about who you place on your DNP list from now on, what with all the people that have you on theirs pretty soon their will be no one left to play LOL

I hope the pending patch will fix many of the connection problems, bugs and exploits. Well there is no guarantee that the patch will fix the connection issues, but it will be a little better, of not completely better. The guarantee that does exist however, is that the patch is coming before the expansion. In other news, Take Two is in serious trouble. Their main lawyer responsible for representing the financial status of Take Two has quit, citing problems with management and disorganization. This news has caused a 25% crash in their stock value. Take Two is now up for sale, but none of the 3 major publishers are interested in buying it (EA, Ubisoft and Activision). They have already spent, and still are spending, millions of dollars on the lawsuits etc due to GTA.

Fried wtf u embares yourself even more?
Everything u writing in these forums bout the technical issues of this game and the work firaxis and take 2 are doing just proves to be wrong.
All this stuff sounds like what is writen on my civ4 package and what marketing department of take2 writes to PC magazines.
Just check out the facts ... they are stated in this and other threads often enough

Lestat don't get me going bud. I am repeating what someone very close to the action told me. I was told take 2 was the problem. This person may in fact have been wrong but....they told me that weeks ago and low and behold no patch yet.
When is the XP expected to be released? in 3 months so... guess they are running out of time aren't they?
