I gained no advantage. I had the movement to take your artist the previous turn. I sent you a message indictaing that. I then changed my mind,
I am a neighbour of Elucidus and Test of time. We share the same cont. We all have open borders and have peace relationships. At least I thought so. Elucidus had 2 units in my front city and when I next got back into game I found he has declared war on me, used his horse to kill my artist and now he has his units next to 3 of my workers. I didnt realise I was at war until after I moved workers so he can kill them next turn if he logs in 1st.
First of all, I had no idea your workers were going ot be there, secondly a friend doesn't ignore diplomacy, I sent you at least five different diplomatic messages, outside of trade proposals and I never got a response to a one. Now I know civ may have problems, but something had to get through. Also I saw you ask for my email address so I figureed something was comming, but nothing ever came. My warrior was in that spot before his city appeared. Horse archer was already on his way. He plopped his city on my units. I even contacted him about some sort of arrangment for the land there, but again no response.
I apologize, I didn't realize he was so sensistive, he plopping an artist in a new city in the only unclaimed land we have as a means to deny me land, I see as an aggressive act and not an act of a friend.
Now here's the kicker. One of those two units in his city, was a horse archer, it was within his movement to capture the artist the turn before. I decided against it. I slept on it and changed my mind the next morning. Since I had the movement the turn before I didn't think a double move rule would apply, since I gained no advantage. looking at civstats.

Oh and the only contact he had with me was to ask for construction for some non miltary tech, which made me worry and decide I should attack him before he attacks me.
I am sorry this has happened. I didn't intend to double move, but looking at things, I don't see how I double moved to gain an advantage. I even gave him what 23 hours to go?

Well as foretold on page 6 of this thread we have our 1st double move problem and as far as I am concerned some really bad sportsmanship. Firstly I consider declaring war on a friend with open borders very bad form. I would never do it. I would cancel open borders 1st and then email my neighbour that our relationship has gone bad and I will declare war on him. But I would give him notice. Say 5 turns eg.
I apologize, I didn't realize he was so sensistive, he plopping an artist in a new city in the only unclaimed land we have as a means to deny me land, I see as an aggressive act and not an act of a friend.
Second he has used the double move exploit to his advantage. Perhaps he hasnt read this forum through. It maybe the problem with having subs in that they didnt read the earlier posts. Another problem here maybe the fact that all my neighbours are subs. Open borders was arranged with previous players though Im sure we I made sure of the same arrangement with the new players.

Anyway. what can we do about this? Do i have to just play on or can we do something?
