Zulu banned in Medieval? Haha, adding more variety and new strategy while banning civs? Zulu is far from over-powered in Medieval, especially when everyoen can build Catapults from the start. Balanced map is a rush-fest anyways ... you're not adding more variety there, you're adding a one dimensional game at the expense of settings that provided the most opportunity for varying strategies.

I think the Classical event should remain on Balanced map.
I think the Medi event should be on TBG (that's the way it's most played, the 2nd most popular way is on Balanced, and the 3rd most popular way would be inland sea).
Is 65 turns enough for modern (i admit i'm ignorant about the duration, it just sounds too short)?
Regarding the Mirror map: You cannot put cylindrical wrap on. It messes up the "mirror" and land will NOT be the same for both sides.
Another option for Balanced map would be to make the map bigger or lower the sea level if we must play it on Balanced. That might help with the problem of 1 teammate getting rushed. Nobody starts separated from their teammates, but often you can have 1 of your teammates surrounded on 3 sides by enemies. He will have very little chance of survival, the only way I've helped my teammates survive such a choke-rush is to spam HAs and road to him, and does little good if the enemy has enough elephants.

Sorry that was a leftover of the highlands map were zulu was seen as to powerful on that map, it will be removed for the Balanced map. CS

I like the variety in map selection and new strategies this allows. Good job on that. Balanced is a good pick for ironman, finally a map which makes that game less of a building game. It'll still be an ironman, just lot more strategic ways to play it. Before it was really linear.
Only thing I'd like to see is one event made random start location, so that not in all events the teams start together. Like the short discussion already in the previous suggestion thread can be seen. There are views for and against. But honestly it does make the game more interesting and open up a lot more new strategic choises for the teams.
This would be a civ3 style event, and possibly would bring interest for old civ3 veterans to try out CCC too. As well as other players who are really tired with the same old way team games are played. This always worked for a lot more exciting games on civ3 than civ4 games have ever been in CCC's. And to my experience it does the same thing on civ4 too.
I'd honestly prefer more than 1 event on random start location, but let's begin somewhere atleast. It is a different way to play a teamer than start together, simple. Both have room. And both should be included.

Why is industrial on wheel? This would prevent almost any naval warfare from taking place in the center of the map.

in regards to RP and random start locations.
We should also do a teamer that doesn't use the built-in teams. Everyone is on their own team for setup and then they will have to find each other and use Diplo to trade techs and maps and such. Score would just be adding up total score of each player, same as it does now. This will create new options and strategies also.

CS -- would it be possible to put up a vote on the Industrial Map as well? After a new map seemingly every CCC, I felt that after we finally discovered Ring 3 tile wide isthmus we had finally discovered the perfect map for this event.

After a new map seemingly every CCC, I felt that after we finally discovered Ring 3 tile wide isthmus we had finally discovered the perfect map for this event. I differ in that, I'd really like to see maps for many events changed each CCC anyway. And Ring isn't an ultimate Indu map. It's just a naval quick drop map. It has its funs and uses, but I really think it should be varied.

I do think that Ring is by far the best map we've played in Industrial in the CCC. Anyways, no harm in putting up a vote to see what the people think ... we have played some *great* games against MDR and LKT with that setting!

I am totally agree with mookie, polls on the maps would be nice. What about Maze for indu? And finally I can hardly beleive my eyes. Is it true that Ironman will be held on "Balanced"

Yes I can put a poll up, but I do reserve the right to make changes that are not necessarily the most popular but are reasonably balanced and fair. We do have to strike a balance between maps that are exceptionally equal and the need to not play the same thing time and time again, to the point that people are bored with it. CS

Are culture bombs still going to be allowed in the Modern teamer? I think it was agreed last time that they should be banned. Also in Future teamer that is now on Inland.

I certainly can remove culture bombs if that is he popular consensus, but I'm not seeing a lot of support so far. I am going to close all the map polls tomorrow night and change the events accordingly, so you have one more day to vote.

I'm not liking the new Friday night timings as that means I still can't play in future and no prospect of playing in REN. I should be able to play in every event ;D

Perhaps rather than moving the Renaissance event to Friday without any other changes, maybe simply swapping the Industrial and Renaissance event start times would be a better solution?
The Reni event generally doesn't lag on as much as the Industrial, so by switching their start times there should be less event overlapping overall.
