Just an advance warning that the Saturday OCC Cton(event 8) will be played using the UQC mod. All testing to date indicates that this is a mature mod that is very fun(and different) to play. You can get the mod in our ladder mods section, here: civ4players.proboards44.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=mmsftl&thread=1175913127&page=1This will be a ancient start OCC/UQC, at around 150 turns, although I'm open to suggestions for the settings. The next CCC is May 11th, so this gives all your OCC players 4 weeks to Download the mod and practise this event. CS

But I'd still recommend the OCC be played on nothing quicker than fast and perhaps even medium timer, for a cton I think definitely medium. CS

I tested it to but i dont see this mechanic work. Cs did u tested this mod anytime in occ anc ? eg at start 10 turn for worker, worker is slow-fast as usualy. all same... THIS IS ANSWER BUT YOU MUST select "UltraQuick" speed from the Game Speed choices on the first screen, or you'll get your normal civ game.

I wount be playing in OCC, or the CCC for that matter, but i think its a really good thing done by the admin team.
People always crying that all games are the same, including myself, lets force some variation. If someone is testing this in lobby anytime ill give it a shot.
EDIT:: might be some blance issues, like certian wonders being too powerful, etc. But by the time most people on the ladder work this out, you can change the format for next CCC and force people to learn something new agian.
Keep it fresh IMO.

Space victory on will shorten game significantly.

I have hosted this game a few times now and it's working very well. The KEY step in copying the file is to make sure that when you extract the file, you save it to civ/WARLORDS/mods in whichever drive your game file is in (C: or D:, etc).
To host or join an UltraQuickCiv game, you must go through the Advanced - then - Load A Mod menus. If you've installed it properly, you'll see UltraQuickCiv as a game option along with Alexander the Great, Barbarians, etc.
Good Luck! And if you're having trouble with installing, shout in the lobby and you should find some helpers.

C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Warlords\Mods If you have Installed it correctly the Link above Should give you a picture Like This! With the Final UltraQuickCiv Folder Looking like this There should be only one Folder called UltraQuickCiv and NO SUB FOLDER as some people have found! Hope That Helps The people with Problems! Gotta Love Vistas Snipping Tool

For the risk of sounding xenophobic, I'll object to this. CCC is a ladder event. Ladder rules explicitly prohibit using mods:
Specialized maps are one thing, but a whole mod with different game rules? That's a bit too much. There have never been any CCC events played on mods, why change that all of a sudden?
Also, how exactly are you going to prevent cheating in this event? Everybody will be showing with *MOD* by their name, so the game will give a warning about everybody. Then what stops somebody from changing some values in the XML/INI files of this mod to something that gives them some advantage?

Mods have been used for quite along time in the CCC, but not yet in Civ4. Most the events in teh C3C CCC use mods.
Mods are not prohibited by the rules. What is prohibited are Modified games that give one player an advantage over another or the use of "trainers". A person with the *MOD* next to their name is using custom game assets and not a Mod. When you load a mod you will be unable to even join a game that is not also using the exact same Mod. In this way you can prevent cheating. The only way for two people to even play int eh same game will require both to have the exact copies of the mod.
