If you drop from a game, the remaining players are required to wait 10 minutes for you to return. While waiting for you, someone from the game should be checking the lobby to see if you are there and if you are possibly having connection problems, as you were in this case. Once the peer troubles were communicated, the game could have been saved and reloaded from the lobby so that the game could continue with all players. If someone drops and 10 minutes goes by, the remaining players can choose to continue and the dropped player should report to all. Also, anyone on c4f cannot chat through private messages to people signed in through Gamespy, if you want to try to contact them you need to chat in the lobby or install cf4 yourself from www.civ4fans.com and contact them through there.

The last COT was OCC 2v2, do we really need to play that event again or can we get something different this time?

Is there really any point to playing a Cton, OCC Cton, or Ironman COT? You can practice these game types any time you like, it's the big team competitions that are the hardest to get good practice playing.

The last COT was Ancient. The events from the last 2-3 COTs should be removed as choices so we don't get stuck playing the same event or two over and over.

If the COT will be run on April 21st, how can the voting for the era end on April 28th?

It would be fun to mix in some 2v2 and 3v3 ancient teamers on TBG, small, top v. bottom, no barbs, no tt, always war as well. I have really enjoyed all of the weekend tournaments that you guys have been running lately, keep up the good work!

4 Corners was made for 2v2. As for whether it will mean less 2v1, who cares, it's a friggin teamer, you ought to be 2v1'd. Zhenon is right, in a teamer you're going to get hit by multiple players, it's a fact of the game type. In bigger events it's 3v1 or even 4v1 ... that's a lot more difficult to stop than a 2v1.

Sorry Metallian, you can't really use flank attacks when Knights are banned, unless you plan on building Horse Archers in Renny.

The problem with OCC is that a lot of players don't want to build any units and just want to farm scientists.
Civ is all about balance. Balance MFG and GNP. Balance expansion and defense. When you take away that balance and concentrate solely on one thing while neglecting another, you're going to run into trouble. Farm all scientists and you run the risk of dying. Go 100% rush and fail and you're going to lose. We took the gamble that most players want to farm scientists in OCC and it paid off this time. Maybe next time it won't. Banning everything, playing always peace, playing the most defensible map possible ... come on ... just learn how to play a more competitive game.

The auto-updating scoreboard is not in use anymore. We decided to let the plus service go on Case's due to the coming move to the new site. Without that service we are unable to run the scoreboard. Sorry DTA Is that why the ladder website looks like crap right now too?

CTON : Donut map = unbalanced +1 Donut is an awful cton map. The vast majority of ctons are still happily played on Inland Sea because it remains the best cton map by far. This game setting for the CCC is really messed up. Honestly, there are two decent choices here but we're currently stuck with a third that is just horrible. 1) Go back to start together top vs. bottom. 2) Use the game model that is played in about 90% of the teamers I see in the lobby -- start separated top vs. bottom with a ban on all civs that start with an ancient UU or a sword replacement UU (no Zulu, Egypt, Mali, Rome, Celts, etc.). That makes the start separated setting much more interesting and playable because it removes the ungodly Skirmisher / Jaguar chokefest that it is. You can start pretty much immediately next to someone on the other team and it's pretty ridiculous when you can start running in resource free UUs super early in the game. At least give everyone a fighting chance and make Civ choice something to think about rather than something that is automatic and obvious.
