Are there any reports involved in the Cash Classic games or is it all off the ladder?

Flanking Catapults is the most slowed thing I have ever seen. 10 Horse Archers destroy 7/8 of my Catapults? Come on. Now you can't even bring siege units up to cities any more without them getting completely destroyed. No point in even building them really. It didn't take good players long to build mostly Horse Archers and completely eliminate the viability of Catapults.
Catapults are now only a unit that can be used by a defender and are unusable for the attacker. That is not a balanced unit.

Flanking was an awful early idea at how to fix the Catapult dilemma from Warlords. Although other better ideas were implemented, for some god awful reason the developers decided to leave this piece of crap in the game as well. Enough Horse Archers in an Ancient game render Catapults utterly useless, as they'll hardly ever make it to a city to begin bombardment, let alone cause collateral damage.

Un-irrigated rice is the worst food in the game. Give me plains cows or plains hill sheep any day of the week over that piece of crap. At least they are adding some hammers to the equation to help me get out Workers and Settlers faster. Plus plains cow is hooked up in 3 turns vs. 4 for the rice.

1) I did pay for BTS. 2) I've played my first ladder game of BTS.
Do I have the right to complain now?
Developers who care release immediate patches to fix game crippling bugs. Many games are released with 0 day patches to fix nasty bugs they missed. Would it have been that hard for Firaxis to include one fix that kills MP teamers in one of the first two patches they have released?
Sorry, but in my opinion, a lot of people paid good money for this XP and deserve more immediate attention to bugs they knew about *before* the XP was released.

And I see pings still haven't been fixed.
Pathetic.
Just goes to show you how much Firaxis cares about this community when they haven't gotten around to fixing a game crippling bug that they knew about before the game was released.

I heard that threads like this finally started and I just wanted to drop by and say, "I feel your pain." I tried my best to explain this to the developers and single player oriented testers, but all they told me was that I was upset that my old strategies didn't work any more and that if I wanted to play an MP game I should buy World Of Warcraft.
And MMV, whoever said Warlords was a buildfest? Too funny. All it added were Trebuchets which were the ultimate city killers until their big price increase, and Great Generals which were razing cities like crazy until people caught on how to defend against Commandos.

They suck how? you actually need to spend some resources to see another players power grph? you actually cant get a stack into another players area for a surprise attack? Oh well, thats the way the real world is too. This is not the real world, it's a strategy video game. When much of the strategy is removed by a super unit, the game loses a lot of fun.

Another thread where I want to tell you all that I feel your pain. Once again, I tried to explain to the developers and single player oriented testers that Spies and Espionage were all fine and good against a hapless AI opponent, but who wants to be the target of all that crap? Spies and Espionage take away the need for a real sentry net and good scouting. That was all fine and good for those who love the flavor of new civs, ethnically skinned units, and new wonder movies. But for those who enjoy the gameplay more than the flavor, we're stuck with a game inferior to Warlords.

Thanks for making it so that all of the free copies of BTS you gave out to the beta testers for their hard work no longer work in MP. Thanks for closing down the beta test so there is nowhere to thank you in person for this great disservice. After all the hard work we put in you decide to bug our copy with a patch that creates a redundant error. Funny thing is, all of the SP testers get off fine because they don't even log in to the lobby where you're required to update. I guess the joke is on us.
After all the time and effort I donated (which I don't believe was even worth it now considering you pretty much ignored every serious MP request and balance issue we brought up), I'm not about to shell out my money on this farce of an expansion pack.
See you all in Civ5.
Peace.

This is only your opinion, most like the changes. Who is "most" ? Just about everyone I've talked to hates BTS!

1) In my opinion, while there is a lot of neat stuff in BTS that a normal expansion includes (new maps, new units, new buildings, new wonders, new civs, etc.), there is a lot of pretty lame stuff (poorly balanced, espionage changes, catapults nerfed to oblivion, basic game concept changes) that make the expansion pretty much unplayable. Here's to hoping a quick patch solves some of these issues for us ...

This isn't Civ3, it's Civ4 ... unbalanced game issues in the past shouldn't be an excuse to continue creating unbalanced concepts now.

ray were the only good multiplayers (to my knowledge) that were trying to fight for multiplayer in bts, and they lost all hope Still trying to fight the good fight, but it's really frustrating trying to communicate with people who just don't get MP Civ. The SP testers (and developers, who are all SP focused unfortunately) care a lot more about the flavor of the game while all we care about is game play. We fought as hard as we could for the MP side of the game, but in the end I believe that BTS is very much a single player XP. We'll have to wait and see what you guys think when it comes out, but I am quite fearful that many of the changes made in BTS will not be very welcome here in the MP community. I know that personally, there is a lot of stuff I absolutely hate .

As 1 of the ppl who came up with ideas for the NC, my thinking was just trying diff things out that weren't being used during the CCC's. Different ideas that aren't used during the CCC are fine, but at least make sure they are playable and fun rather than a seemingly random combination of Era and Map.
