EoN was a player of very significant skill (and, yes, ego) back in the C2 days. Apparently - at that time - he was quite dominant, and many people paid him heed and respect.
He seems to have forgotten that if you take a long time off, you start over. ::shrug::

did any of the admins compare IP's of known rabblerousers (or would that be babblerousers) that disapeared or were booted/banned from Civ3?
People like that don't change, they are the way the are and their true personalities always bubble to the top.

No believe me he didn't play Civ3, I'm not sure what made him leave his home in RTS land, but such is life.

To the contrary, we discussed it and decided to give everyone amnesty from past transgressions, giving them a chance to turn over a new leaf, so to speak.
At least one ex-ladderite with a lifetime ban took advantage of this program that I know of. Perhaps more. Everyone starts with a clean slate - it's a new day!

I have after his negative and derogatory posts here attempted to trace his ip back to civ3. I found no trace of him there although I did find him twice here which is by the way a no-no. We have one account, we may choose over time to change our posting names but we do not have multiple accounts running in order to by-pass the software when sanctions are imposed. I apologize to some of you should this seem a little harsh but we do so have the well-being of our community at heart and we do not wish such negativity to be flowing through our BRAND NEW FORUM YEAH!!!! ;D ;D So please let's make it as he wasn't here and when one of them feels the need to take a poke at us lets turn the other cheek.....WE so wish this to become a positive place to read and spend time on. We do not wish for it to become a place where one can go and try to "one up" one another and look to ridicule the hard work of others. Many of us know and have grown fondly attached to the memories we were able to forge over at proboards for conquests. We were indeed a family and our dream is now to "enlarge" this family to welcome in many, many new members. We will fix some technical issues and have our 7v7 reamers Let us be welcoming and show the civ world what a strong MP community we truly are both on the playing Field and in our capacity to get along.

LOL he withdrew EoN because it had a losing record, now he has withdrawn his next name, StarlightDeath, i would assume for the same reason.
The little I talked to him convinced me he is narrow minded, petty, arrogent. Harsh words I no. I HOPE we will be told what his next incantation will be.

Yea, but most of the others I have played know how to have fun! He actually told me "we professional players know that competitive ladder players know that this game is work, if you can't handle the work, you must be..." I admit, I forgot what he called me then. Apparently professional players still use the sort of name calling most of the rest of the world leaves behind in middle school!
Does that reply of his mean I was "pwned?" ;D
(note, if I ever use pwn or any form of that in a serious manner, will someone PLEASE ban me?)

Pwned is the literally most stupid saying Ive ever heard in my years of Online gaming and Ive heard alot on Online RPGS the likes of I Pwn Joo, Pwned, You have Been Owned, etc etc, and On Ultima Online outta 500000 players online i was in the top 10 pk (player killer) list, and NEVER once used one of those stupid words. ANd I have to agree with ragnoff If I myself ever use those words seriously please ban me as well =D

Work, if I ever consider this game work, please shoot me. Anyone who takes a game seriously enough to call it work is missing the entire point Professional you mean they'd pay someone to play civ, I'm in the wrong job obviously

2 funny, I saw Pwnd in an ad on 1up.com yesterday and I wasnt sure what it meant (if it meant owned or something else) anyway, thanks for clearing that up fellas. As stupid as it is, was it just a typo or intentional is the new question.

From my understanding Pwned is a word, uber leet (both these words coming form the same group of trash that uses the word pwned) kids who have no life and their whole existance revolves around their in game life use to say Owned, so it is very much intentional, Altho perhaps it did start as a typo and became a fad

Here's EoN's "final" post over al 'poly"
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a little update. In my past 30 games on the ladder I have lost only 5 games. In the past 20 or so games since I got a real handle on the game I am pretty much undefeated. There are only about 5 people on the ladder who could beat me. I can now march my points right up to 3000 in very little time. I no longer bother trying to take cities except early on. I have a very good grasp of all the strategies and I am completely dominating for the most part. I hate the game even more now as I realize how ridiculous it has become. Rushing is king early on, but if it doesn't work just sit back and build **** all day long. I usually make my long bows strong enough to defend against a nuclear attack and I throw a bunch of catapults in my city. I honestly can say now that I hate this game. I hate how easy it has become. I hate how mindless the combat is and how ridiculous the defense values are. I'm tired of building missionaries and great leaders as I keep looking at how much gold I'm gaining. I find myself focusing less on what the other player is doing and more on what my score is doing. So now I can get 3 times the score as my opponent and i can defend against the apocalypse with just a few longbows or musketmen and I can do every strategy under the sun...and I feel like it is the biggest waste of time ever. Never have I felt so disgusted with a game before. This will probably be the last PC game I ever play because every game out there is taking the path that civ4 and AOE3 have taken. Honestly, it's probably for the best because I can do far more profitable things with my time. If you're an idiot and find building temples and monasteries difficult, this game is for you.

yup! During the Cold-War, the Soviet Union used the longbow and musketmen strategy to protect from nukes.
Apparently, it worked for them as well, lol.
I don't think it will be long before the "strategic principals, difficluties and values" of this game are modded out to make a mindless point-and-shoot game.
