Not "Yep" since the initial statement from Fried is wrong. Its wrong? Lkt wasn't done with their first game until the other teams had finished their second (third round of play)...this is a fact. I don't know what is wrong about it? Its not your fault persay, except for maybe if someone in that game was lagging badly, but bad circumstances.

Meanwhile, we (Illuminati) started our 2nd round game just after 6pm GMT, when the event kicked off, and had finished by 7pm. We had to wait until 4am GMT for LKT to finish their 1st and 2nd rounds. Actually, I was impressed by how quickly they were ready to play again; and at the time I thought that 9 hours of non-stop playing must put them at a disadvantage. In retrospect 9 hours of playing looks like much bettter preparation than 9 hours of waiting around. . For this event Ren we take (LKT team) a pause of 15mn max between each game i think we have made our max But the fisrt two game (FUN and TX) are very long and hard to see who win before the end and i precise there will be not lagg for all these event in our game LKT_Stilgar

I'd like to suggest adding a random era event for bigger teams, also make the last random era event more than 1 city elim. Otherwise its a bit about luck too , too much. In if you start with a late era it's not too hard to tak1 city with an early all out rush.

I support the bigger random event, and the change to 2 city elim looks good too.

deyreepher..
We often talked about toying with the way CCC is run. However although we get tired and complain, we liek the one weekend CCC option. Many of us with families cannot strech our time over several weekends.
Our excuse now is ...
c'mon honey its only 1 week our of 6!!!

Or change great plains in the next patch....so that its entirely plains rather than half plains half desert half forest (yes thats too many halves, but you know what I mean ). Great plains that was ONLY plains/rivers/some floodplains ( no forests, no mountains, no hills, etc) would be REALLY COOL and a welcome change of pace!!!! Perhaps someone good at coding could create a modded plains map like this for the event?

While I very much agree that preventing "laggers" from playing is unfair, is it any less unfair to make three teams wait seven hours for a first round game that took as long as two other rounds... just to get started? It is a regrettable situation... but I'm not sure the answer is to "just deal with it." I don't know what event you're talking about. LKT had a 14 hours renaissance event without accountering any lag... lag wasn't the issue. The problem is that there was only 1 game to be played at first round, all others started playing their 1/4 finale while we had to play our round. And anyone who plays this era often knows that a renaissance event can last long if it's not decided by kills. Your tourney system is not optimized for this, just don't try to get a weird reason to this. Just start using our brains and make a tourney system of our own. Ellestar proposed, i can help too and I guess others can do their part. A great community as ours should have its custom tools and not rely on already made tools that doesn't fulfill our dreams ;D Anf that's not what I'd call "deal with it"... "deal with it" would be to find crappy solution to selfmade problems I made a proposal and promptly got ripped to shreds. Good luck trying to come up with a new system. Seems like any change other than packing in more is the only way things will get done here. I'm glad to see though, I'm not the only person who believes there's needs to be a change and have come up with a similar solution.

SPM, please move the ironman to the time it has allways been!! atm u got it at the qualifier time which is totaly unplayable for euros - in addition u moved civ4 fut 3 hours later to make it even more unplayable for euros i know this time discussion is old - but u found a scedule in civ3 which was somewhat ok, also for euros and now u screw us so badly again ... wtf?? u cant want some1 to start a event without pauses that takes about 12 hours at midnihgt. 2 out of 3 events on firday at unplayable time is just too much and i (and maybe whole MUD) ll boycot ccc if it stays that way Which is why I made my suggestion of a weekly playoff, tommy, in my thread. A weekly rotating time zone preference of games to be played would be far fairer than the current system. Boycotting isn't a solution, assisting others with an idea to come up with a solution is a far better action. I think your solution (I may be reading your post wrong) of trying to get events favoured to your time zone only creates more problems. A global event like this is one that is going to need compromises to be even more successful in the future. I understand that I won't be able to play in EVERY ROUND/EVENT, but that isn't what I am asking for. I am merely asking for a system where even more ladder players can participate and be a resource to their respective clans, instead of the same ten players from each clan being the only participants. This is what the ladder is all about, isn't it?

I'm not going to bitch about times or anything as I promised to SPM in civ3 when we got atleast one event moved to a time that would not finish at 10am. But the events schedule for CCC was made so that it favors at that time the larger portion of civ3 players that consisted of north american users. Right now I think civ4 has a larger percentage of players outside NA, europe might be the biggest region and asia is a lot bigger factor than in civ3. I think with the current system you can rate Europe #1 region, NA #2 region and asia as a big #3 as well. I think the event needs a whole new structure, a new schedule of events. We really need to make this a truly global one. I think we should give events that favor each time zone and then place some events in between, basically making play round the clock. This is the kind of schedule the european players proposed already in civ3 but it was knocked down. It is not acceptable that any one region gets 2/3 or 3/3 events in one day, that will decide seeding for the next day. Right now the majority of the clans, especially top clans are from europe, the schedule if going by the way you, SPM have said should now favor the european population. But anyway I'm not asking that, just asking to make it a universal schedule that favors all major areas. I know this will make some events hard for NA players sure, but they are right now hard for european and asian players as it is. Asian players only have the grudge event right now at a time that is ok. Make the event universal so it invites more people from different regions to take part, to make it grow into an event that will encompass the entire globe, increase the amount of people involved etc. I can help come up with the schedule if you like. But it should be something where the events are spread out more. Also a varying time table for the CCC will allow for people with different time schedules or work schedules to take part in something atleast. This will increase diversity in clans as well. All good things. Also a question, what ever happened to the play-offs we had in civ3? Dunno which system is better... basing win only on total event points or having a play off after(with game being decided if one team wins % of events).

dey this wasnt my 1. ccc as it was maybe yours - the discussion about timeplan on ccc is as old as ccc itself I think.
SPM found in the end of civ3 ccc a scedule which is imo acceptable for EU and US - asians are a bit badly hit I guess (cant really figure how times are in korea for example - but espacially sunday events are kinda in monday moring I guess) - as EU and US are maybe about 90% or more of players and there are events for asians aswell this civ3 scedule (and the final scedule of of last ccc) is kinda best available imo.
All i wanted was to remind SPM of his worthchanges he made - which badly hit euros (posting 2 events at unplayable times - one of em ironman which shouzld be final challenge for all ladder players - as it shows just the best OVERALL civ player)
I kinda cant agree with red on idea to spread events more about all clock 1. a event favouring asian time d unfavour 90% of players which makes a event not really a competition but asians vs tired dudes 2. I like the all clan meeting of ccc - espacially in finals where u need 8-9 players at same time which just means that all your civ mates meet together and party the win of ccc in the end 3. there are just not enough events to spread around - in fact events are spread allready pretty much around all clock - ok sunday events arent, but - they are the final (kinda playoff) events
1 idea i was thi8nking of was to add some events but limit the number of clans participating in every event (not in 1-1 and ironman) to 8 clans - so every1 can find a event he likes and the event itslef goes much faster and smothly - to counter the building of huge clans to fill all events u couldt interduce also a limit of events per clans like 10 out of 12

I would like to suggest a 1 city event for next ccc. I have seen more of these games played by ladder players over the past month than modern and future put together. Would there be any difficulties with an event of this nature? Surely, all clans could participate in the one game with half the lag of an iron man. I make no excuses for myself if this topic has already been raised in this thread (skipped from page 1 to 7)

I like 0CC myself but we'd need a resourse or colony scenario to make it a fair event for the CCC I think.
