I am going to be unable to continue in this game. Unfortunately, I have had a very serious and very personal situation come up that has made me unable to play civ. This is because I no longer have access to a computer that I can install civ on. The only computer I have access to is a government computer that I cannot install civ on. So I can post on breaks, but I cannot play Please set me to AI until someone can take over for me.

OK, we now have 2 players who have gone off. mmm may be back in a week or so after his household move is done with. It looks like Visium is gone for good. For now I have the AI playing both of these civ's. Please try to recruit replacements.
In the meantime it would be good for game balance if none of the remaining players make any deals with the AI or war against them as the AI does some goofey stuff under these circumstances.

Also, for whatever it may matter, we are approaching the first BM at 2000BC. So, plan accordingly.

All game victories are enabled, as well as additional scoring opportunities during the game at ten benchmark years. The firstBM year will be 500 BC instead of 2000 BC(see sections 26-8, 26-9, 26-12, and 26-13). I thought the first mark was modified to 500 BC ?

If you're looking for replacements, I can ask around some of my friends from the Strategamer site, if you'd like. Let me know if you want that (I'm sure I could quite easily find willing players).

All the starting player are myleague/civ4players.com ladder players and will be reporting by score to each other after benchmarks(BM). Plan accordingly doesn't mean we should all eat plenty of fruit and fiber before the BM. We don't all simultaneously take a bowel movement at 500b.c., if that was what you were thinking.
Subs don't have to report, btw.
I have a question. Shouldn't the quitting player owe the remaining players reports? I don't think I received any. And how much is the penalty for quitting a ladder game with 10 BM's? Just one report?

Maybe the first attempt was unlucky timing.
I took the game down for maybe 15 minutes while I installed Windows Updates. I then proceeded to load the wrong save and it took me a while to notice that and get the right one up.

I cannot connect. Tried a couple of times within the last hour. Any idea? I got an error - "The network socket connection encountered an error and was closed - disconnected" This happened once before; I have no idea what causes this. It's reloaded and running now. The turn has 18 hours to go.

Nope, IP is still 24.209.164.134. I don't think others are having any trouble.

I got the same error, but I tried it in 2.08 and it seems fine. Guess it must have been updated... would have been nice to be notified though.
