I'd suggest a small, quick setting game...
Any takers, and if so, then:

I'd like to try this out. I'm pretty new to the game however--compared to Canuk that is. Played about 5-6 games so far, and won a few SP games at chieftan level, and came in the middle of the pack on the MP games. Leader - Isabella redly@wi.rr.com smtp-server.wi.rr.com

My vote to make it a ladder game, but it really doesnt matter. Wonder how many months this will take to finish -- lol.

I got the save, but am insure how to proceed. How can I protect my save with a pw like in civ3? I haven't send it yet, but saved on my harddrive.
Emperor, can you please post what settings you made? Landsize, difficulty, pangea, continents and that stuff. It will determine tactics, not that I have much for now ;D
I vote for cton.
Can we please decide that quickly. Oh and I need to know how to protect my save, before I send it on.

When you open your save hit Alt + D and fill in your pw and email and smtp server if you know it. I think I wrote a PBEM guide somewere around here......

4000BC to Redly do we keep track in this thread when someone has send their save? And yes, it is written in the pbem guide, missed it. But who thinks that I need to hover the mouse over an empty field that I see, what that field is for. No questions or complaints anymore from me in this forum. Some people still struggle with the game mechanics

Yes please post your turns in this thread, and I have no problem with this being a ladder game at the end.

Thank you CS for the technical Support I set the game as: balanced standard map speed: quick all else is at default unclicked victory conditions: time and diplomatic It's a very easy interface to set up a pbem! So far it looks like it's going to be a cton style game, with reports at the yearly benchmarks of 2000bc, 500bc and so on... I'm looking for those rules now. Emperor_V

There's no specific rules for PBEM games, you can apply the Epic rules or just report one win at the end like a standard ladder game, I'm ok both ways.

Redly, can you tell if you got my save? I send it with the mail-feature and it said, save sent. But afterwards I had problems to leave the pbem game and had to end civ in taskmanager. Just to make sure, else I will send it again. Thanks Emperor for posting settings

No, I haven't gotten it. You might have to send it manually I guess.

"§$%/&"! Why did a window pop up then and told save sent? ?? Anyway, I will send my saves manual in future. Was a nice feature, just hit a button and voilà. Redly watch out for your mail, resend it right now.

Redly, could you please check to see that your email address is right in your settings, and Rhyanon, could you just check your smtp settings and see if that's setup right, also could you guys please post your time zone, so as to see if we have any conflict that way for turn efficiency.
Tks a billion guys!
