Obviously you missed the message that said I did my move. Of course my email address is correct otherwise I wouldn't have gotten my turn. We are waiting on Hazel. I am in the Central Time Zone in the US.

Emperor, I checked my smtp settings when I got the save and they were wrong, only the smtp was too much so I deleted it. The adress of the smtp server is only:
mail.gmx.net and not smtp:mail.gmx.net
my timezone is GMT+1, that is 6 hours ahead of EDT.
Hope that helps

I have a file but civ4 cant see it and it does not have an extension to it like .sav of civ3 games. Should I put an extension on it? What extension did you guys have when you loaded it?
For file type it just says :file

Chr.-4000.Civ4SavedGame I used the game to send the file so it really should have sent it properly. I will, however, send it manually right now. This could be kind of a hassle if we have to send it manually all the time. Redly

Next problem.
I planted a city with the name hazel rah being arabia and I noticed that there is already a Hazel-Rah with a score that is the greeks. Who is playing this person, heh.
I think emporer name is not on list of scores and hazel rah is on there twice for some reason.
Will send manually let me know if you got it automatically so I wont have to for now Canuck.

lol Hazel-Rah, when I read your post about the file-ending I went looking what extension my file has that I sent to Redly. Remembering that you can double-click it to open civ automatically to play it, I did that Result was that I opened Redly's turn and saw his location and two Redly's in game and no Emperor. I guess that happens when you open the turn that was sent to the player after you. Well, it was cheating and I should not have done it It was done to find a way for you to open the file and post here. I admit, I was too coward to post it here. That's why one urgently needs a pw to protect one's saves. I guess, something similiar happened to your save. I have no solution for this problem since you can enter a pw only when you get your first turn, least that is so in civ3. Refering to the email sent from Emperor asking for thoughts about a restart with better coordinating the timezones to prevent major delays, so I am all for it. And since obviously now is clear, that the ingame mail function doesn't work (can be wrong here, CS will know it better), we should start new and everyone being so honest as to not look at the saves and everyone had a chance to protect them with a pw. Thats definitely a problem that one can check a persons starting position before they are able to set a password on their first turn (If I understood what happened correctly). Not that I don't trust you guys--Id like to know for future games--Is there anyway the HOST person can set passwords for each player? Contact them in private and set a password? Before the game begins? Honest mistake Rhyanon, no biggie. So. Let's start again, shall we? We might be able to discover bronze iron working by....christmas. ;D Redly

Heh, well I just realized how silly my question was...since if the Host has everyone's passwords, he can cheat just as easily....unless we can change the password on our first turn...

Nothing really can be done about the pw setting function, if the host desires to set a password for each player which can be changed by the player when they get the turn, he still can check each players starting position, about the only breach in security for pbems. I don't have the time to play a full game of civ, nvm taking an hour to load each players turn and check their starting position Hazel, I don't know what the glitch may be, we can play a few rounds and see if it works itself out, could you also check your email daily so as to hopefully have at least a turn a day played tks a billion. Givin it a whirl, we are all members of the first pbem for civ4 within our ladder community. I'm also in a few apolyton pbems and they are interesting as well!

Redly please let me know, when you didn't receive it. I tried again with the built-in email feature. Can be that my mailwasher causes a problem. All in-and outgoing mail run trough it and it has only Outlook as mail program set.
Hazel I have 2 Rhyanons instead an Emperor. So yes, I have this bug too. You appear only one time in red.

Hi, could you do me a favor and tell everyone I can't post on the civ4 boards anymore?! Everytime I log in, it just goes to the main forum index, and then I go to the thread and it asks me to login again....endless loop. ARGH. Was working fine the last few days so I don't know whats up with that...ARGH
Thanks

I'll sent the last save again to Redly with normal mail.
Emperor, why does it work with you and not with me to send the save from the game? Any ideas? It is the same smtp-server that my Outlook uses and I never have problems.

Hi. Finally got the forums to work. Have to login with the "forever" setting for some strange reason. Anyway....Got the save from Rhyanon just now and did my move and passed it on. I wasnt aware Rhyanon attempted to send it in-game, sorry about that--should have looked at the boards closer. I guess from now on we have to send manually. BTW, what mailwasher program are you talking about? I also run a program called "Mailwasher Pro", but it doesnt scan or manipulate incoming or outgoing mail at all unless I tell it to. I do have AVG which DOES scan outgoing emails, however, and should probably try sending a turn with that turned off. Next turn. Redly
