"Creates a massive defensive wall all around your cultural borders that keeps barbarian units from entering your empire on the continent the Wall is built on. When your cultural border expands, the walls do not expand with it."
I see nothing in there about keeping another player's culture out

It will be like PTW and Civ3, only that you will see if your Buddy's are online, it doesn't care if they are in CIV4 ore Warlord. So it will be much easier to find a game at this way

So, to clarify, games for both Civ 4 and the warlords xp will count for this ladder.
I didn't play Civ 3 so I don't know how things turned out there.

I figured that out a long time ago germania when I saw my buddies in staging rooms for games with titles like "testing testing...1 2 3" when those games weren't in the lobby.

Is the warlord lobby the same as the civ4 one or is it like PTW and conquests? There are two lobbies. You can play either CIV4 or Civ4WARLORDs and report your wins and losses to this ladder. You, our players and members, will decide how rapidly Warlords takes over as the de facto standard for CIV4Players. We view the next month or so as a transition. Best, SPM PS: I am 98% certain that the retire bug is fixed; however, there were no major changes to the MP connection code so some issues will continue.

Well, like many of you, I'm not a SUPER SECRET BETA TESTER, so the first news I've seen of Warlords has come from this forum and from this extensive IGN article.Mostly I just wanted to highlight the fact that because I had to check my pants after that one. I'm really looking forward to 5- and 6-upgrade stacks of 80 cavs. What are your secret clever new strategies that occur to you from the Warlords info so far? Obviously that kind of thing was fixed long ago by testing demonstration. I'll be posting my full review of Warlords this evening, after I have a copy in my hands. I think those who say "Fried is a fanboi" are going to be shocked.

I still don't see any units that can kill a cossack effectively. Pikes, Muskets, knights and other Cavalry all lose. Triple upgraded grenadiers come close i guess. Have they changed the tech cost for replaceable parts and rifling to make it a choice between getting cavalry and rifles?
Imperialistic is the best ancient/classical trait now. Getting a settler out that much quicker means you can get to the resource you want very early in a 1v1 and it saves more turns than spiritual does. Aggressive is the second best trait in anicent/classical times so gengis khan will be the new 1v1 king for sure.

Imperialistic looks like it has to be totally imba; that's like a 2- or 3-turn settler with one slaved pop! I'll be working on my Victoria game for sure when I'm not playing Huayna.

A strength 15 Cossack will be a piece of piss compared to the strength 18 god we had to put up with. Now at least riflemen will not find them tricky and formation upgraded grenadiers will own them, especially if I've got some lovely catapults to hand.
