Moral of the story? When in the Admin's House, play by the Admin's rules The problem is, this rule has never been enforced before and as a result, nobody except the Admins had a clear picture of what the rule meant until all of the sudden, without warning, it was suddenly enforced and players got disqualified from the CCC, when in the past they would have been allowed to play without even knowing they were technically violating a rule. How about announcing that you'll be setting a new precedent rather than throwing players out of the CCC without so much as a warning?

I like reading stories like the ones posted here Anyone ever heard this one? Goldilocks and the 3 Admins Once upon a time, there was a little ladder player named Goldilocks. She went for a walk in the forest. Pretty soon, she came upon a house. She knocked and, when no one answered, she walked right in. At the table in the kitchen, there were three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks was hungry. She tasted the porridge from the first bowl. "This porridge is too hot!" she exclaimed - So, she tasted the porridge from the second bowl. "This porridge is too cold," she said - So, she tasted the last bowl of porridge. "Ahhh, this porridge is just right," she said happily and she ate it all up. After she'd eaten the three Admin's breakfasts she decided she was feeling a little tired. So, she walked into the living room where she saw three chairs. Goldilocks sat in the first chair to rest her feet. "This chair is too big!" she exclaimed - So she sat in the second chair. "This chair is too big, too!" she whined - So she tried the last and smallest chair. "Ahhh, this chair is just right," she sighed. But just as she settled down into the chair to rest, it broke into pieces! Goldilocks was very tired by this time, so she went upstairs to the bedroom. She lay down in the first bed, but it was too hard. Then she lay in the second bed, but it was too soft. Then she lay down in the third bed and it was just right. Goldilocks fell asleep. As she was sleeping, the three Admins came home. "Someone's been eating my porridge," growled the Papa Admin. "Someone's been eating my porridge," said the Mama Admin. "Someone's been eating my porridge and they ate it all up!" cried the Baby Admin. "Someone's been sitting in my chair," growled the Papa Admin. "Someone's been sitting in my chair," said the Mama Admin. "Someone's been sitting in my chair and they've broken it all to pieces," cried the Baby Admin. They decided to look around some more and when they got upstairs to the bedroom, Papa Admin growled, "Someone's been sleeping in my bed," "Someone's been sleeping in my bed, too" said the Mama Admin "Someone's been sleeping in my bed and she's still there!" exclaimed Baby Admin. Just then, Goldilocks woke up and saw the three Admins. She screamed, "Help!" And she jumped up and ran out of the room. Goldilocks ran down the stairs, opened the door, and ran away into the forest. And she never returned to the home of the three Admins. Moral of the story? When in the Admin's House, play by the Admin's rules MMV, prone to hyberbole as always. Very hard to have a serious discussion with posts like yours to interrupt.

Yes, that's why the Admins put up a poll asking for which kinds of penalties would be prefered by the ladder members. Oddly, lots of people responded - then the Admins announced not just a few changes, but an advisory that ALL rules would be enforced.

MMV, prone to hyberbole as always. Very hard to have a serious discussion with posts like yours to interrupt. Yes, i am sorry, - but I am only a player, who in the past has played hundreds of game and have never had a non-report. All of my losses are reported in without complaint. while posting that hyperbole, my great-aunt had a nervous breakdown, and had taken herself to O'Hare Airport to board a plane illegally. this meant i had to hyperbolize the post immediately and go and pick her up, and return her to her house and family (a rather uncomfortable journey) i was invited to stay for 3 days, but I didn't because I know you hang on every word of my posts and would want more on returning, i read your response, played 2 3v3 teamers (and won). afterwards, I checked my inbox and found some of strangest emails ("GET RICH NOW" and "Good Day, I am Nebolos from Nigeria" and of course "Pass this email on or all your friends will DIE in 3 days") I'm sure those emails had been in my inbox for 48 hours i checked the posts here immediately, and gave out a sigh of relief later this afternoon i found out that I wouldn't "GET RICH NOW," and that Nebolos from Nigeria just wanted my bank account numbers, and finally, although I may wish it, all my firends will NOT die in 3 days if I didn't forward that email speaker, you made your opinion about my hyperbole known, but canuck soldier has not, however i am asking you, as one of the few people to have actually read my hyperbole in this thread to consider my positiion. i hadn't checked my email for 48 hours and it forced me totally out of my control my past record of less that 00.0% no failed reports speaks for itself, and i believe that less than 7 hyperbolized posts is punishment enough as i have technically done nothing wrong that was of my choosing vote rokkit!vote MMV!

To my knowledge no one was ever allowed to violate this rule by the fact that no one noticed. Although if someone did slip threw it wasn't because the admins weren't prepared to enforce it, rather that we are human and make mistakes. To my knowledge it never had to be enforced until now, before NR penalities always expired well before they would have interfered with a CCC. Regardless, the Admin team has decided to excuse all players effected by this rule for this CCC. For the only reason that the rule was not well understood by the ladder as a whole, and not because it was not a valid policy that we were enforcing. We will likely have a review of the concept of the "in good standing" issue, and what the CCC means in general but no decision is going to be made until after this CCC. CS

CS Well CS, I suppose a 2 year old may not understand in good stead and I suppose that is what we are dealing with here. I really don't agree with allowing anyone who breaks the rules (especially someone who has been on the ladder for the length of time that the present subject has) be given any breaks. What really kills me is Mookienj, a longstanding member of this ladder and very knowlegeable to the ladder rules, actually stating that this is ok. Gogf is another. Wonder how concerned they would be if it was not a clan member. Wonder if they would then respond as they have in the past that this person/persons should be penalized to the full extent of the ladder laws. Right at this moment I have 8 non reports pending. Some are from noobs and some are from regular ladder players like myself and a couple are from the so called Elitest. And what I grasp here is if you are one of the top players you should be allowed to break the rules. It is your right. BS. You also stated at the start Mookie that others would leave the ladder if this type of ruling was kept. So what!! If you can't follow the simple (yes I said simple and easy to interpret rules) then please leave. If the rules of the ladder can't be followed by all, If the admins can't serve punishment without having to listen to alot of crap as to how hard done upon you are for being punished JUSTLY. Then the ladder is invalid anyway. Hope Rokkit and you are now happy, and we don't have to worry about any more whining from you about how unjust the ladder is. And to all else out there, the next time Rokkit does not report withing 24 hours, please don't just send the complimentary email. Have UPS deliver it and validate that it has been recieved. Also if it happens to be close to the time of the next CCC, please do Rokkit the favour of not filing till the CCC is over for fear he may have to miss that one as well and all life could end there of for him.

Yes, I did think that tougher non-report penalties were needed. I am glad they were put in place. Hopefully non-reports will become less of an issue as time goes on.
However, I do not feel that this issue is related to what I'm currently under attack for. Rokkitlauncher and Namejs did not report their losses. They were placed in the penalty box according to the new rules. However, they are not scheduled to be in the penalty box during the upcoming CCC. Therefore, it is my firm belief that they should be allowed to play.

I'm not sure about anybody else, but I'm really starting to get tired of this paranoia about "the elites." Nobody is saying that people who are subjectively good at Civ shouldn't have to report. A lot of people ARE trying to say that no player's box time should be extended beyond when it officially ends without reason, especially if the change to rule interpretation was never made clear. Sure, I might not have heard about this incident if Rokkit hadn't been my friend. Yes, most people think Rokkit is pretty good at Civ. Who cares? This is a discussion about whether or not Rokkit sould be allowed to play in the CCC, not what clan he's in or how good at Civ he is.

Ok look at this matter with cold brain. Admins changed their decision many times for others about box. They unbox people if boxed member nicely ask for unbox. We saw that rockitwumy cry at public and he deserve unbox. About wiz we all know that he had many account more then 1 year. Shame is that now admin catch that. In meantime admins played with US patriot kid and oter non clan members kids and shown their muscules. Problem is if admin changed their decision bc presure of 1 clan. But they know truth... lets go ahed.

I supported allowing players not currently in the box to participate in this CCC for the sole reason of what appears to be great confusion over the rule. This was done with total disregard for who the individuals involved were. That being said it SICKENS me to hear that people 'would have followed the rules' if they knew the consequences of not reporting would affect missing the CCC. It SICKENS me to see clan loyalty taking precedent over doing what is best for this ladder.
I give you fair warning now, if you are bombed or in the box DO NOT waste your time coming to me to get your suspensions reduced.

Tony I never changed my opinion over my initial ruling, but I don't run the admin team as a dictator either. Seems the point is moot now for at least Rokkit, he's gone and stuck his other foot in his mouth so to speak.

We in GOD are taking strong action on internal crapitude which I hoped was what was going on here and I hope it is something RAY and other clans would do as well. That said I think Rokkit is in my book of good standing, thewiz however...that said Rokkit may have used a pseudo at some point and messed up GOD vs RAY (Superlambbanana?) though I'm not 100% sure on my facts there. Non-reporters, DLs and those playing for more than one clan need to be utterly harrassed - hopefully here by the admins - and if they represent a clan by that clan too.

Well as you can see in the dailly reports we are certainly trying our best to enforce the duplicate accounts, and non-reports and all other rules. But we welcome the help of the community in this, so if you think you see a problem feel free to let us know and we'll use all our tools to investigate them. And of course we are happy to have the members of the ladder and the organized clan help with policing the behavour of people that like to bend the rules as much as they can. Only so much can be done via our judical system, peer pressure can go along way too.
