(hope this doesn't get lost among the bickering) A suggestion for rule changes: BAN CULTURE BOMB. It's been long known as a nuisance that has nothing to do with reality ("Your land is now mine because I painted a picture!"). And the newly-added modern event turned it into a pinnacle of absurdity with this tactic (all done in the same turn): chain-build a railroad to the edge of enemy territory, found a city, explode a culture bomb, chain-build railroads in the newly-acquired territory, attack enemy cities that got caught in it. This is just a variation of Commando which is banned. I agree. The modern teamer is much more fun without culture bombs.

Longhorn, I always thought that you were a nice guy. Your completely ridiculous list of insults adds nothing to the conversation, has no base, and does nothing except make you look like a jerk. Please, try to post something constructive. I think Longhorn has got so frustrated with the bs from some RaY members at some times over some issues that he let his emotions get away with him and started to generalise. I, for one don't find that hard to understand. There are players in RaY that are really friendly, honest and sportsmanslike.

"hahaha!, u noobz, who do you think u are attacking?? i am metallian the king!!" (after we failed our attack on metallian)
"get this f**k outta here!!" ( after church dropped 2nd time)
"u f**king lagger f*g**t!!" (after church rejoined)
all of the above are metallians comments from the game, and now he is lying that he didnt say these things...
do i need to comment?
CCC must be a competition of fair-play and sportsmanship, but some guys like metallian sabotaging the soul of whole competition and turn it into a vendetta via these comments.
you lost all of my remaining respect to you metallian...

To Gogf-
I actually like you and a lot of other people in RaY (like Knupp and Elgis etc.) but speakers last post and someone else telling me what your members were saying about me pushed me to generalizations. My main problems are with the mangament and leadership of RaY, which preaches from the bullypulpit!
Just once I would like to see you stick up for me maybe, and tell your 'speakers' etc that its NOT ok for them to post stuff about me or that they shouldn't put down every idea or suggestion that I ever make. Look back at any previous thread, and you will see exactly what I am talking about. EVERY single thread I ever suggested anything (and this is towards other people too) always has a RaY player telling why this and that suggestion are BAD instead of simply posting their own suggestions and ideas. And please stop your fellow members (again only some not all) from always blaming some noob for every single freaking game they ever lose.
As far as the other stuff goes, I will CONTINUE to represent the ladder as a whole for things like CCC representation, including water on maps and playing OCC's. Example- I personally dislike the OCC events (no nukes no internet interests me 0% personally), but the majority of ladder players do like them. I am not a fan of late era events, but the majority of ladder players like them WITH WATER, so I will support their wishes.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
TO CS- Excellent idea and solution on a STANDARD X minutes or forfeit strategy that can NOT be broken. Perhaps all matches can have an on duty back-up TD that can make certain all CCC events start at the scheduled time in case a delay is for a TD not being present.
There is a difference between being in the lobby, ready to play, and NOT being able to connect to a game- and simply not showing up. I feel it is important to address a solution and STANDARD policy for this situation as well. We run into the most trouble when there is an appearance that different rules are applied to certain people. We must make sure ALL are treated the same.

Metallian is a known trash talker and definitely can be an a_sshole sometimes (can't we all?), but he's definitely a good guy and a great teammate. I apologize if he crossed the line in the heat of the battle. However, he's hardly the only trash talker on the Ladder. Another guy I personally get along with who happens to be one of the biggest a_ssholes around is GOD's very own MissLadyLuck. No offense dude, but you know you like to run your mouth sometimes! And speaking of duplicate accounts and pseudonyms, I remember MLL claiming she was a new player for months until it was finally revealed that she was really a he and it was Atomation, whose account was still registered on the ladder for a while before it was purged. Oh well. I think it's silly for people to have secret alternate accounts, and it can be harmful in team games that aren't set to shuffle. However, I do understand the desire for some sort of anonymity in Ctons where the anonymous setting doesn't always work out so well, or in semi-Ctons and OCCs where it doesn't work at all. I suppose as long as Ladder policy remains open invitation this will unfortunately always be a problem in some form or another.

Mookie, this post really put a smile on my face , thank you for addressing these issues. I agree with everything except for the underlined text. I'm not sure what I think about having anonymity in ctons. It makes a fun change, but personally I don't mind if people single me out because I have high rank or because I have some sort of reputation (not that I'm actually convinced this happens) - it makes for an interesting challenge. And if this is the only way to make truly anon matches, then we should all get to make a pseudo-account and that's not exactly practical. But I'm sure you see this point and you admit pseudo accounts are a joke so let's leave that. Re. the italics. I also get on well with MLL typically, but I refuse to play a game with him because he can be such an ass. Whenever I beat him I cheated, whenever I'm on his team and we lost I noobed it up, whenever we win it was all down to him. In fact I can recall some good convos with Metallian, he taught me quite a bit (although he didn't teach me everything I know and I wouldn't be nothing without him as I think he likes to believe ). TBH I can't understand why these guys seem to have two personas *shrug*. One thing I will say though is that yeah things can get heated in a game (his comments were totally over the top however - and I can't understand for the life of me what calling the other team's attack noobish achieves, except that its some sick strategy to rattle the other team, and against me it works). But what is totally off is that he completely denied it in this very thread. WTF? -------- Back to MLL, I absolutely hated the fact that he took on that pseudonym. I even asked whether it was Atomation (as the penny dropped for me), but he refused to admit it. I think that really sucked. As you can see I'm not going to defend someone because they are my clan mates ;D. Once again thanks for the post. I'd like to think something would change after all this, sadly I doubt it is.

Hmm, I'm not so sure about that, Atomation is good.
