Mmm, yes, maybe 1 city elim is the solution to never ending and boring renaissance teamers. Don't know why, but i find they're lasting very long lately, maybe beause of some level raising for most players playing them. A lot of "More than 4 hours" games... too long. Another solution to the 4 hour plus games is to try playing under the CCC rules -- 3v3 Inland Sea small map size, 90 turns. These games tend to go a lot quicker than the 5v5's do.

Of course, when you're facing Mookie, all bets are off ;D Funny coming from the guy who died in 20 turns! ;D

While it's a ton of fun to come back after losing a team member, it's really hard to do. You need to have an obscene MFG lead or an obscene GNP lead to pull it off.
So in the end, most of the time the game is 95% over and most people prefer to start a new game rather than slog it out in the 3 minute long lag filled turns at the end of a game they most likely cannot win.

So what I'm getting from all this is that you'd like to mute spammers and smacktards ... ;D

I just may do that. Its only been 1 day and already Im going nuts from "Help Me I can't connect" and "No one can afford that big of an army you are a cheater!" and "What kind of arse attacks with 1 warrior in the first 5 turns...I didn't even get time to make my first worker" and "at what point after you start a game can people join". OMG Gotta love those open FFAs! They are fun to play when ladder gets frustrating, but they're really only a diversion. You'd better write a really nice email to CS or you're going to have a long two weeks!

It was suggested that in Inland Sea teamers, if a new player is in front they can switch out with someone more experienced in the back. Deyreepher came up with that suggestion. It's too bad this never caught on, I thought it was a pretty decent idea! It would certainly help newer players gain experience in the teamer setting without having to constantly fear death and frustrating their teammates.

Its clear, no play -10 rungs. We play for fun or for rank ? If we play for fun, then why force the top 10 players into a Challenge Tournament and penalize them if they are unable to play?

It will be weekend tourney. Euros 10:00 pm = usa 4:00 east. This tourney will rejected philosophy like im from autralia, i cant play, etc... Make it clear, if you are in TOP 10 must play or u will lost 10 rungs eg like u lost ranks due inactivity. What if a player has to work on the weekends? Or has some other sort of personal obligation? It's hard to schedule this around a tournament of this nature because the rank system is so volatile. What if you jump into the Top 10 a day or two before the Challenge Tournament? You can't adjust real-life obligations that fast, and I don't think you shouldn't be penalized in rank because of that.

Not reported in the daily news because it was a withdraw and rejoin, but I heard that NiceToKillU is Corve.

Wiz just got his computer fixed a couple days before the last CCC, I don't think he's had enough time back to rack up that many reports.

Silkk? if not dunno Nope. He got bored of the overpowered Expansive trait and the Catapult Stack of Doom that together have made Ancient ctons a lot less fun and uninstalled Civ to force himself to take a break for a while.

and of particular note..... [KC]Bantams is STILL [KC]Bantams ok so i got drunk spat my dummy out and joined another clan and quit in the same day but i am t total now well almost no more black stuff anyway and yes im [KC] as i will always be be from this day forward so if anybody else is thinking about it no im not interested i like even love my clan family jesus i quit for 2 hours and cried after i sobbered up [KC]Bantams So basically you got an admin to change your name back and as a result it was hidden from the ladder community? How can I keep exposing pseudonyms if there is a loophole like this?

lots and lots of brothers i mentioned this to admins before but nothing seems to be done about it There's no way they should be able to get away with using the same name like that, and the admins do have the power to do something about it if they want to:

The other day I see on the ladder news that:
Mahalia_Queen joined.
The next day I see that:
Mahalia_Queen is now British_Loyalist.
I remember seeing a few days ago that some other account was using the name British_Loyalist, but the name change was posted more than 7 days ago and I don't know, if it's even possible, to go further back than that in the daily news.
So I'm just wondering, how many accounts does this guy have? And if it's not the same guy, isn't there a ladder rule that everyone should have a unique name so as not to confuse others?

Not that you care, but I take offense to your 'calling me out' or lumping my name change in the same category. I changed my name when I left the [TX] clan to stop confusion-- not to mention [TX]longhorn would be misleading people to think I was still in [TX], and changed it back only at the suggestion of others- who said I would always be longhorn to them. The change was published in daily news and I never changed my ladder email address to attempt any sort of cover-up. I am to call you out for going from MookieNJ to [Ray]Mookie? Longhorn -- I didn't mean to drag you into this, nor I am referring to you simply dropping the [TX] from your name. You did spend some time using a pseudonym, and for the first few teamers I played with you I had no idea who you were. Unfortunately I got dragged into this first when lp calls out the entire RaY clan because two people withdrew from ladder, didn't play for weeks, and when they finally decided to come back to Civ did so with new names. When I can find two examples of players changing their identy in lp's own clan, I find this to be insulting to me and everyone in my clan, and I am not going to stand for that.

well if you have 2 accounts on the ladder they will both get deleted, be warned. Exactly ... changing your name is one thing, but having duplicate accounts is another. Oh well, in the end, I'd honestly prefer that people couldn't change their names and couldn't reset their stats ... it certainly would make things easier for everyone. But according to the ladder rules they can, and for the original poster of this thread to call out one clan specifically when there are a lot of people changing their names and resetting their stats who are not a part of this clan is not cool with me.
