whip, you are "specifically" correct
you "specifically" did NOT go and start a new ladder
but indeed, as posted, you WERE part of the seperate ladder FROM DAY ONE OF IT'S EXISTANCE - with the help of a few others, and that fell apart under your adminship (they gotcha' there, lol)
in fact, you were made HEAD Admin (they gotcha' there too, lol) in the MIDDLE of the battles you chose to fight anywhere and everywhere
and where are those "others" now? why BACK in C3P, of course! STILL talking about it STILL beating a dead horse STILL "fermenting" over sour-grapes, and - STILL blaming everyone but themselves
(clearly ODD considering the failure of the "democratic ladder" is CERTAINLY not "blameable" on anyone except those responsible for creating it and administering it)
for someone that's like a dog with a bone and won't let go, you're VERY quick to point out the "lack of memory" of the rest of us.
I'm sorry dude - your colors shown BRIGHTLY during your "revolution" and they continue to show 9 months later.
You're done.
(and I'm done with it too)

To my mind, it's not even worth arguing about. If becoming an admin became a popularity contest, it wouldn't be for me! I don't have a lot of time or inclination to spend it trying to justify a position that holds no merits bar trying to keep a free multiplayer game ladder running. As it is, it doesn't take a huge amount of time, we have a few subjects that come up occasionally for discussion and I (and I assume the others) answer a few posts or YIM's from people with small queries or want to know how to join the ladder etc I do it because I like the game and even now, while I don't have as much playing time, I like to feel part of it. Magz is MOST correct (as usual) - if it's NOT fun and you don't feel part of it, don't do it.

I would just say, that on average, the more an admins plays, the more likely they will understand what the players is trying to convey. I'm not sure exactly what all the admins do but I thought 95 percent of it was public relations and answering questions so the more knowledgeable someone is at the game, it would stand to reason, that on average, they would have the potential to be a better admin. Members with the power to vote an admin into office, would more than likely make a good pick and vote in only assets to the ladder community.
I would think the best system would be to have SPM and CS be overseers with a few they hand picked and second group of equal or greater number that were elected. SPM and CS would still have some veto power but would have more knowledge and understanding of the frame of mind of the player who plays all the time and has a great understanding of the game.
This would be something like the executive/legislature branch relationship that most republic/democracies/monarch have in the world. It's been proved to be a superior system throughout history so far.
Secret cabals and aristocratic forms of government are not trusted and the masses have less loyalty. Who you know and @ss kissing means more than what you know, making them less efficient and these eventually end up in the scrapheap of history.
Personally though, I really don't care. I appreciate that a free service is provided. This keeping stats and reporting and playing with players that are more serious and finish most games greatly enhances my enjoyment of the game. The Admins can do the Charleston, in their birthday suits, down main street, farting the melody out their WhaZoo, for all I care, as long as the reporting system remains intact and enforced.
For the most part the admins do a great job but all that being said there is always room for improvement.

Problem is this. I can tell you by experience that the more elaborate a body is needed to rule over ladder the more complicated and ineffective it becomes. When ya got good admins, bringing CCC's, processing non reports....why mess with a winning formula?

OMG I started this crazy poll so please feel free to delete either the poll or some of the posters Don't worry Bant, this thread has remained relatively civil and if it allows some exchange of strong ideas then that is ok, we don't always control were our threads go after we start them CS

whats the difference between saying 'no' and saying 'leave it to the admins' Saying No means you want to let someone else pick the Admins say Whiplash for example

well the numbers shows it clearly, most of us is very happy with the way this LADDER is run. So this is infact a posetive tread. Even though it seems to wake up a few gosts from the dark ages.

"NB.: I would offcourse vote for you, if an election was up Bantam" And that's why the voting is best left to the hands of the current administrative team ;D
