If there is one thing I've learned thru playing this game is to not get pissed about it. Noobs will die, you will lose 98% battles, and your opponent will totally screw you over when he wins .00001% Nothing you can do.

And apart from this first point, these things will only happen occasionally .

How can a player with nearly 700 reports on the ladder who has played in more Renaissance teamers than I can count think that planting a 2 city front is a good idea? A 2 city front where the fat crosses don't even touch. A 2 city front a turn after I say "please no 2 city fronts." You've got to be kidding me. There's another 5 free reports, enjoy guys. Not much you can do when a guy is completely dead before you research 1 tech.

Next game another "slow" plants a 2 city front. I'm done with this game for awhile outside of the occasional cton or cool game. Not worth getting so frustrated over people who should know how to play the game after it's been out for almost a year now. Enjoy another free 5 reports. Peace.

to be fair, i see a lot of top reni teamer players plant 2 city fronts. but they got the mfg to support it. also u gotta bear in mind if someone doesnt really understand why they should do something the might not do it. ok it might seem obvious that a one city front is a good idea, but they might be used to using the land to good effect. then again, some players are just plain bad. but gl getting a game without bad players.

Planting 2 front cities as gandhi isn't such a bad idea. You can aggresively plant your 3rd city forward and bomb it. But those 2 front cities should be only from your two starting settlers. Later planting two front cities like that will get you killed when cavs come around.

there are 2 options in teamer: either u fully know what u do or u play save
teamer rules: 1. dont die 2. listen to capt 3. help teammates 4. dont get pillaged to death 5. expand forward on front if possible
long after this 6. pressure and kill opponent
only if u make 1. 5 points sure start with point 6

What!?!?!? Whatever happened to planting on horses and trying to rush your opponent? Are you telling me that is not a good idea?

thats the point - u can do that IF U KNOW WHAT U DO and if u can still make sure that u wont die by doing that
also in a 5-5 early kills suck anyway - like 1 hour to set up to see if a rush is succesful or not, thats why i say play save to not destroy fun for all others in game

Rushing is a part of the game. If you do it effectively you can most likely get a city from an opponent or really stop his growth. If nobody rushed it would be an extremely boring 4 hour build fest/point race every time.

P.S. Mookie... We all know that you need at least 3 front cities. I mean if you only have 1 front city you must be a big noob. Some advice for ren teamers:
Build as many front cities as possible. Don't build units. Build walls in all your front cities. Only work cottages not mines. GNP matters not MFG. You don't need any workers. The one you start with is enough. When you die blame it on your support for not sending units. Remember you didn't die because you didn't build units, it was your teammates fault.

I feel Mookie's pain in both games. Honestly, if you feel like you are constantly under pressure when playing on the front, maybe you should play differently. Ask your captain for advice. Planting your two settlers directly up and down, with the fat crosses not even touching. That's just playing poorly. Someone who has played this game as long as the veterans have should know better. And sending forward a settler, worker, and great artist accompanied by one or two longbows against an opponent who is already choking you..... I don't know if you are hoping to lose the city before or after it is founded. Game two. Like Tommy says, play it safe before trying something crazy--especially if you are one of the last players picked in the game. Rushing with two un-upgraded horse archers against the top pick in the game. It's okay if you can protect yourself. Not okay if you save your capital by a luckily-placed worker (attacking unit stack diverges from its intended path rather than take the space), but lose your *other* front city 2 turns later. Defense before offense, as they say. I hope Mookie still plays teamers. PS- Thanks for all the free workers.

Knupp pls dont act like u invented rush, everything u do i did 2 times before.
The point is that u should only rush IF U FULLY KNOW WHAT U DO and that means only when u can keep a stable eco and a fall back defence aswell

When did I say I invented rush Tommy?
Let's see what I'm saying here is that you can rush and stop enemies growth and if nobody rushed it would be boring.
Hm let me think. Nope not once did I say I invented it.
