Same problem, system requirements blow away requirements everywhere but video card quote "Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - No"
1) Grassland AND water all black, run together, can't tell the difference until u improve the land.
2) Leaders faces transparent (who needs em anyways, could care less)
3) City size, building (ie warrior :1), name of city, all blurred out by colored boxes.
I could care less about #2, but with all the programmers and such working on this game, is there anyway to make a patch for this instead of making poor smucks like myself go out and buy a $50-$150 video card for the sole purpose to see grassland?
I mean what in the world is this grass doing anyways? You got church-mice crawling around in it or something?

This is odd, we had atleast one tester with that chip and it worked for him. Make sure you install the DX9 version on the CD it has CIV specific dx files not just another DX9c. Also go here and get the latest drivers here Intel Extreme Graphics driversYou will have to know your specific chip model as there are a couple different ones. Let me know if this does or does no work. If it doesn't work I'll get you to email me your DXdiag report and I'll send that to Firaxis. The EG chips should support the T&L and shaders that CIV requires. CS

I have the same problem. I updated the graphics driver to the latest version. Made sure I was running directx9c from the civ4 cd. Tried all different resolutions. Still no luck.

The problem is i can see the map for scenarios but not for single player games! (dark) So i dont understand the problem because if it works for the scenarios there should also be no problem for single player game right ?

Actually, I believe that the scenarios have a different file for calling on the graphics, so they don;t work the same as the basic game. I don't know alot about them yet, so not sure that is 100% correct.
