I agree yo if you check the start of my pseudonyms exposed thread you'll see that speaker was knowingly hosting ladder games with players using pseudonyms that weren't even registered on the ladder, because it's his idea of a joke. Like a week later they made him admin. Great choice...not! I would've complained at the time except...It's not like I want the job. Oh and I also loved how he threatened to ban me from ladder for 30 days for making some comment about his mom, in the lobby, which really was only in response to his continual harrasment (or attempt there at)

Why do we need a new admin? 1 in every 50 games probably need admin intervension, not including non-reports.
This is just making an issue of a non-issue.
If more admins got added it wouldnt be a good or a bad thing IMHO, the net gain or loss to the ladder would be minimal to say the least.

I haven't played Civ 4 for around 48 days, am I eligible to be an admin yet or do you still technically need to not play for 2 months ;D

[LKT]moineau for admin My vote on this! It would be great to have admins who are active. CS has a full plate trying to cover all the bases. An addition would be great, but a replacement for completely inactive admins is better, imho. Nols

Not to worry bantams, I actually do think of these things in advance once in a while. And the issue of new admin is something I've considered, but getting threw the BTS transition and running the first BTS CCC was a little higher priority. I'm not sure were speaker has been hiding out, but he did tell me he wanted to do non-reports once more before deciding on his future, and right now nothing is being dropped by the Admin team, in fact I've seen more Admins, HTD and TD's wearing there tags in C4F lately than anytime in the past month. But I will consider applications for new Admins, but there are no promises of instant "admin-hood" for anyone And btw I'm not sure why you think the ladder is a "little slow" lately, maybe it's your time zone, but we did have 1.4 K matches on the past long weekend, not to bad, if you want to see slow, take a look at the C3P matches CS

And btw, I'd be glad to have an French and/or euro admin, but the over riding factor in deciding will not be nationality or language but personal qualities and suitability to the job.

Are you blind? I'm in the lobby every night from about 5pm mst to midnight, just about every night, and DTA was on tonight, levi is often in the lobby and is Audrien in his time zone. And believe me "sucking up" is not a factor at all, but if you mean problem children need not apply then you would be right! And no there will not be a "vote", admins are not a popularity contest, the current Admin team will look at all the players that state that they might want the job and decide who in there opinion best has the qualities to be an admin. The only people qualified to judge what it takes to be an Admin are people that have done the job. CS

Whats with the C3C comparisons? That game is almost 7 years old now. 400 reports equates to about 27 games a day, which is by no means a CIV golden age, it was getting over 600 at one stage. A healthly ladder should be getting atleast over 500 IMHO. But dont get me wrong it has nothing to do with the way the ladder is run - Infact, generally, speaking i think the ladder is well run. It just alot of people have decided to move on, which is abit of a shame i guess. I can see some issues with BtS, but i dont think these issues are so bad, that people should totally stop playing. Maybe some people have just got bored of it now after 2 years who knows. On a side note, i would like some TD's to host some touneys where the settings are a little off the wall. This requires some new thinking and might spark some new interest, agian who knows.
