Am a bit confused about the reloading or restarting of a game after a player drops. The recontinuing of a game in CIV is obviously different than in the other civs ie you dont have to go back to lobby and reload. So if a player drops what is done? Do we continue, let the ai take up a few turns and wait for player to come back? Do we wait until player comes back? Is there a time limit for rejoining players? If we continue game and the 'ai takeover' option is unticked is the player permanently removed from the game? some help please.

Ladder rules apply. On any player's first drop, the players should vote WAIT and wait 10 minutes before continuing. The players can decide before hand whether to allow AI Takeover or not. With this feature on, the dropped player can resume at some later point (perhaps 20 turns later, who knows). Without AI takeover, the player is dropped from the game if they don't return in 10 minutes and players vote CONTINUE. On second drop or subsequent drops, it's up to the host and players. As always host can grant reprieve. After too many drops, I can understand people not waiting any more.
So I hope I answered your questions. It's all in the rules.
Best, SPM
