This offends me. I'm Caesar's true daddy. Actually I think Caesar currently worships Metallian as his daddy. lol yeah he even refuses to take Met's cities! Now there's a post that will promote new players to come to the ladder. As much as a pain as some new players can be, lets remember that we were all new players at one time(even MGT!) and that new players are our life blood here. And while you may legitimately not want them in your teamers right away, a little politeness can go along way, and good sportsmanship is supposed to be a prime quality of the ladder. Being rude to new players is just confirming in their minds that MP players are just ignorant and rude, and off they go back to poly and CFC and talk down our ladder.... CS Edit: I posted this as DTA was reviewing MGT's post, my opinions on the subject of "we" are better than "them" stands. And MGT the next time you feel you have to spout drivel it will come with a vacation from these boards. Now who's the new sheriff in town?!

your messing with the forces of the universe CS. Every man has a function, my function is correlated with happiness of veterans. You lose that aspect and you actually see a decline in the happiness of veterans and inevitable the quality of civ 4 even. Lets be realistic, and maybe this is the coke talking, but I don't feel as negative about newbs as I write about. I mean I train people all day telling them strategies and how to become more efficient. When newbs or new people see a post I made in its bluntness they don't go and say, well I guess im not going to join this ladder because this guy has this perspective. And lets say for example that a post made by me will incline an individual to be less likely to join an elite ladder game, THAN GOOD. First off all that newb is going to do by joining that ladder game and making ridiculous mistakes is piss off everyone else in the game and turn a 2 hour strategic game to garbage. In the end I understand the opinion of dta or or yourself, but whether realized or not, without the sarcastic jokes provided you are going to lead this ladder into a lifeless information gathering site where new comers come to learn and get tips, and old players find no reason to check the ladder once a day. But hey its just a matter of opinion and I could be wrong, especially if you perceive the world differently, but through my experience of the world, the pros I provide through my comments far surpass the cons.

Guys ...guys, proclaming yourself "elite" or best player on ladder won't change or incrase size of your peni(s)...it will still be small as your self esteem. If you had any self esteem there would be no need to make any claims or statements...

I understand not letting new players into some of you teamers. I can accept that. But if a player makes it into one of those games, which are ussually always pw'ed, then they should not have to accept being treated in that fashion.

i duno if this is the right spot to post this... but on the subject of newer players, there is a trend starting for them not to report in ctons and just leave the game... didnt seem to happen anywhere near as much before. Looks like the bantams attitude of 'dont play teamers' wont work anymore no where is safe...noobs...lites...theyll get chya...

Well if they do not report, then file a non-report and they will be dealt with.

Well I can honestly say that I'm FAR from being elite...and it has been difficult at times to get into teamers. I'm ALWAYS willing to follow someone elses lead if they are better/more exp'd than me. I just want to improve my game, not prove my manhood on the ladder. (Some people take this WAY to seriously) 99.99% of the time the "elite players" have been courteous and helpful to me and I know that they just want to avoid someone blowing a game in the first few turns. Most of the teamers I've lost have been from a team-mate doing just that. IT'S JUST A GAME!!! Have fun, be competitive, do your best to win but don't freak out on some poor new guy because he screws up. STUPID NAPPY HEADED NOOBS!!! J/K!! Good post!

Go play a cton -- 1. An idiot who has no idea how to play Civ doesn't ruin the game for you. 2. You don't have to follow anyone's orders but your own. 3. If you want to try a new strategy no one will try to get you to conform to what they think is right. 4. No one will ping you to death. 5. You won't have a teammate who absolutely refuses to follow the team plan. 6. Nobody will demand that you send them units, workers, or settlers. 7. You don't have to watch someone who is utterly clueless attempt to play the game. 8. Any reports you earn are your own, and any you have to give out are your own fault. ... Teamers on blazing are a waste of time. There is no time to analyze, communicate, and formulate a team plan. Heck, a lot of people don't even have time to move all of their own units, let alone offer advice or think ahead! It's 5 players playing ctons vs. 5 players playing ctons. In the quest for faster games, teamers have become quite one dimensional and unfun. This one too. But I would like to agree with Atomation, I'm not sure about point 7 . @polz: PHM is a dude, you guys need to get along . Reading on it seems its a bit late for that . I'll tell you something, when I play with certain people in a team I follow their advice and even ask for direction and I consider myself pretty good, I just know when to appreciate the abilities of others and put them to good use (MLL you know I'm talking about you )This is horrid, it burns my eyes ;D. I love those people who justify not following my advice as that I've made them nervous and that they panicked I really do ;D Well TBH, I can remember being in such a position. When I was not 'l33t' and I played with the other 'l33ts' I really didn't play very well, I felt I couldn't think for myself and I got really nervous. So I do my best not to make peeps who are in that position now really nervous. u guys dont think the players u called "elite" came from space and directly started to play passwrded games...do you? Awesome to the max! I loled ;D. The rest of the post is right on too. If you are a good player people notice. Longhorn is right as well. Don't think that these pw'ed teamers are the holy grail of Civ. Sometimes they suck monkey balls and I'd wished I'd been doing something else. I don't think there's many genuine a-holes in Civ, but these high-end teamers bring out the worst in people and it can get unpleasant. And yeah, don't praise these guys because they are really great at a computer game , but you should respect them if they have a good manner to go with it and learn from them also, if you actually want to get good. I might go mad at someone for noobing it up, but if they are willing to listen to me explaining what they did wrong and what they should do in the future, I would happily do so. In fact I really enjoy that, if someone is understanding it. But I'm not playing atm so . I would much prefer to play a competitive cton with good players sometimes, but they are very far and few between. is there any strategic depth in team games? Not on the Blazing Timer. ROFL, blazing sucks so bad, why do like all my friends in game refuse to play any other timer. Get a grip people! Longhorn, I know were friends, but you always say that people do the same nuts and don't try to improve. I get sick of seeing these posts by you. You should seriously take a look in the mirror. Sorry this post does not deliver. Every man has a function, my function is...to become more efficient and...less...newb MGT, you perplex me so ;D. You would be such an asset to the ladder if you didn't write such BS. But then I think you would no longer be MGT. Catch 22.

I killed a city of ur's once in a ren teamer tommy. I still remeber that because you're that awsome. I was totally proud of myself. This must have been awhile back, I do not recall the long winded rambling post about how you must have cheated, as it is the only way tommy ever dies. How ironic, this is the first post I have seen of his since his last self rightous diatribe about how (someone I know well) must have cheated to have killed him. As you were...
