I thought I'd start a positive thread - where people could post about things they REALLY like in the new game.
I'll start with "ALMOST NO RELOADS"- with hotjoin when someone drops there is no need for everyone to go back to lobby and restart - while this wasted time, the bigger concern was the lost gameplay and arguments about SAME MOVES, RNG, LOST SETTLERS, etc.
Best, SPM

I wouldn't know were to start.... but on the topic of negative posts, please remember that people that are happily playing the game are not posting here, they are to busy enjoying CIV. This is a case of 1% of players having 99% of the problems Actually I think it's the total package...CIV really has that "just one more turn" syndrome that Civ2 had and Civ3 was lacking in. I've caught myself testing a gameplay issue during the testing phase an 4 hours later my wife forces me to goto bed CS

I really enjoy this creative trait, best trait ever btw, is there any way to still move when research/city pop up comes up? Very annoying when you need to move quickly

Go into the options and check "minimize popups" this will delay all popups until after you have moved all your units.

This is a case of 1% of players having 99% of the problems well, really this sucks. One can love this game and despite criticize some points like I did in the other thread. Someone asked for constructive critics but obviously didn't want to hear it then. I also love Civ3 and will continue to play it too and that is no sabotage of this game now how someone else said. I have played many sp games for now and I really like this game. I like most the civics that I can choose and religion is a very good thing. What I like most is that overall I have more possibilities to win, not only this "whose stack is bigger" nonsense. There actually are builders that like this game. One thing though. I cannot stay long in civ4 lobby since this spinning globe causes dizzyness and headache. Anyone knows, if there is a feature planned to disable the spinning in a future patch? Oh well, I better run, another complaint. Rhyanon

Your not the first person to mention the spinning globe thing, personally I think it looks great, but I'll ask for a graphics option to stop the animation, if you don't ask you would get want you want. CS

What I love most about this game, is that now with Civ4 being out, I am spending alot more time with my Family.
My wife has asked me for over 2 years now "When is it gonna end? How many differnet ways can you win or lose?"
I like the fact that everything is new, and it only "Reminds me" of Civ.

The rotating globe causes vertigo. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Please keep posts in this thread positive. There are complaint/suggestion for improvement threads elsewhere. I can't "move" one post. So I will just delete entirely negative posts from this thread. Please be advised.
Another positive thing: Password protection in lobby. No one is asking if I'm the "real" SirPartyMan, anymore ... ahhhhhhhhh.

I can't pin down any one thing that I love most, so I'll just give one example: I like the whole religion aspect of the game. I'm starting to think the effect it has on the game is probably overrated, but it's still fun. ;D

Tell her it's like sex; unlimited variations. to which she would reply "Heroray has been eliminated" Lol well at least in Civ 4 he could stay and watch My favorite thing about Civ 4 is the scoring. I have always been a slow starter. With the scoring being an average as it was in Civ 3 even if I was by far the most powerful civ later on in the game it was hard to catch up in score. Now I can do my slow build up early like I want and then when my civ really starts rolling the score shows it. Now if I can just teach myself when to stop building and to get my defense up before that first stack shows up I may actually be halfway decent at this game

Hey Mo, nice to see you posting here. I know what your #1 favorite thing will be when you discover it ... NO MORE PICKET FENCE!!
Any unit can unload from a boat and if an enemy unit is on the coast they battle like normal.
Thought you'd like that...

I like that all the possible exploits of c3c are gone for good. I like the much more logic micromanagement. I like the whole GP system as a 2nd aspect of economy which offers a whole new dimension of strategies.

I enjoy the new ways of guarding against air power. For example your jets on intercept missions guard the surrounding area, not just the city. Destroyers and mech infantry can shoot down planes.
I also enjoy that sea power is more useful, IMO anyways.
