Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been giving CIV a bit of a break due to work demands.
Nice to see the ladder forum here is getting more air play but we need to encourage more members to check it and participate.
What is the status of a new patch btw ?

New patch will be Soon™ (Soon™ is a registered trademark used for any game patches, updates, releases and expansions.)
This forum is so boring. There is nothing to discuss. I don't know how do you plan to encourage them.
Btw instead encourage players to actually play. In the recent 3 days, i was online for 15 hours at least. I got in 2 industrial teamers that ended in 15 minutes because of someone dying to a galleon drop. And i got in one Ren teamer that was laggy and was scrapped in the end. Not so much for 15 hours of time wasted.

Well I'm constantly inviting new players that want the advantage of the good games that the ladder provides, and there is nearly 600 players that have been active in the last 3 weeks, so games should be out there. I do think that the problem with our lack of forum posting is that we have a very high percentage of new players, and it's those we have to push the forum too. Then it might be a little less "boring" CS

The build costs and trait/wonder epxloits should of been patched early on with a 1.53 patch. The strategy element has really suffered with the patch and I'm probably not the only one who feels a bit dissapointed with the way the game works atm. I don't think that helps. Pre patch lots of strategy discussion, post patch lots of criticism of unbalancing and lack of counters to strategy. Soon should be now IMO.

I agree, ladder players should definatly post more, for example i would like to know the views and throughts of sidhe.
I just feel he hardly ever posts, and when he does, he is very vauge, Sidhe a small post of a few lines is not enough.
He makes great, very important pionts, but i feel people just dont get to know about them as they are only posted in a single, very small post, that can easily be overlooked, by someone just skimming though the forum. For example Sidhe made a great piont about the ranking system being flawed, but does anyone know this?? Probally not, such a good piont should be spammed across atleast 10 threads, half a page each, but Sidhe is way to modest for anything like that.
I am normally on the edge of my seat when reading his posts, but the problem is waiting weeks/months for the next one.
Sidhe is very rarely wrong, but when he is, he is very quick to hold his hands in the air.
But the best thing about Sidhe is his ability to stay on-topic, if a thread is made about dogs, he will talk about dogs. He never changes the topic to "the ranking system", or himself.
All in all Sidhe is a great guy that never causes any trouble. He is a very popular guy, who is very well respected on both the CIV and C3C forums.
So i would say, Sidhe do what your doing, but only a little more often.

I forgot to say "teamers". Anyway, it was just a small rant Some workdays are unlucky on games.

Lestat in the last two weeks you've posted as much if not more than I have. Maybe you should swallow a little of your own medicine. And staying on topic is boring, when the thread begins to die why not put a little life back in it by making a semi related point like the above. Reason people don't come here, the game sucks atm and there's nothing to disuss except just how badly it sucks in comparisson to pre patch. If you play mods you'll know what I'm talking about. All I can say is wait for the patch, you'll remember what the pre patch game was like and you'll understand just how dissapointing the game is atm, I may play this weekend but I haven't played in weeks, I've just got totally disolusioned with buildfest ctons and hosts without a clue how to adjust the settings and teamers where half the strategy element is out of the window because you can't use many of the civics, waste of time most games IMO. And you wonder why this place has turned into a waste land? Not much of surprise, saying the patch is balls and this and this is unbalanced and demanding when the patch is coming out can only carry you so far. There you go Tony, long enough for you

I personally have come to believe Sidhe is a very important and vital member of this forum. He is always letting everyone know what they should be thinking.
If it were up to me, I would have a section were only Sidhe could post and Sidhe can only post there. That way we wouldn't have to sift through all the meaningless post just to get to his. All we would need to do is click on Sidhe's Corner and get all the information worth reading. That would make it much simpler for people on the go like me who want to read what the greats have to say without all the other pish posh that needs to be skimmed over. It can be annoyingly time consuming scanning all the post just to find that one nugget of gold written be Sidhe. Yes, that's the solution, Sidhe's Corner, were only Sidhe can post and Sidhe can only post there.
I'm certain that once people found out that policy was in affect the membership would grow exponentially and many members that don't visit here often would flock back in droves. Who's with me??
Three cheers for Sidhe! Hip Hip Hooray!! Hip Hip Hooray!!! Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!

Actually I just say what everyones thinking and everyone already knows, it's just not PC to say it, and besides people like being ingorant it keeps them happy. If being the ladder scapegoat is my job so be it. Yes I am the route of all evil and I have never posted anything but lies or posted anything constructive, or encouraged a good debate, or played devils advocate, or even given any tips or advice, I am as you say the Devil incarnate, I live to spread hate and mistrust. Evrything I say is words of truth but poisoned by my nature of evil. The Devil also can tell the truth. Blah blah blah blah blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah. Like I honestly care what the pitchfork wielding peasants like ascension think? The guys obviously disturbed anyway.
Good, we happy now, carry on.

ok isn't this getting a little out of hand ... I post a comment about not being very involved recently and suggest we need to more participation in the ladder forum ... and now I see it starting to go down the road of attacking other ladder members. Sometimes I wonder why we bother. This thread is locked as it is totally off topic from what I intended.
