In 2008, we start from scratch. George W. Bush is done as president (no matter what), and we select a new commander in chief. If the election were held today, who do you like as president. Or perhaps I'm a doof and I forgot somebody, please provide your opinion. Do your best to ignore party affiliation.

Maybe we can re-encarnate winston churchill. 25% of the people on that list think America is evil and deserves to be destroyed. The rest are to weak to fight for America. If a lib wins and a year or 2 later a nuke goes off in a city, I'm sure somehow they will blame Bush. They wont dare offend the islams. If a republican wins and a nuke goes off the libs will say it was somekinda conspearacy. Eitherway the aftermath will equal the fall of America and the rise of the new soviot union. The only way we can stop such a fate is to start kicking ass and taking names. But not one of our canadits is the kick ass type.

What about Condi Rice? I still have hopes of her running. Not certain she get my vote in the end but I like what I seen and heard in the past form her. Would be great to pop 2 cherries at the same time by electing a black women president. (Has a much greater chance than Al sharpton of getting elected IMO.)
I would also love to see how the Dem's and the press would react if she was elected president by the republican party. When Rice became Secretary of State, barely an article was written, but when Pelosi is made speaker of the house, it is women breaking barriers articles on every major newspapers front page. Even the liberal press couldn't gloss over, Rice elcted president, even though it would be seen as a republican gain to them.
Who didn't see those magnificent pictures of Pelosi holding the gavel surrounded by her grandchildren. Almost made me think she was normal.

Not to alarm anyone, but smatt has done it again. The pillar of research and thoroughness has yet again seen a headline or heard a whisper and concluded the 'absolute' outcome of an event or situation. "Fred Thompson is out because he has lymphoma or somthing." Very clear there smatt, thanks. Now on wards to some more conspiracies. Yes, why waste time with something that you have evidence readily available for; conclusive, from the source too boot! This is only part of the story but enough to clear up the misinformation handed down by kid conspiracy: "In an interview with Fox News Channel's Neil Cavuto, the former Tennessee senator, 64, said a doctor conducting a physical in 2004 found a bump on his neck, which turned out to be non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He said the disease is in remission with no illness or symptoms, and it won't affect his decision about whether to seek the Republican nomination. "I wouldn't be doing this if I wasn't satisfied in my own mind as to the nature of it and the fact that not only will I have an average lifespan but in the meantime I will not be affected in anyway by it," Thompson said. "Now of course nobody knows the future but that has been in the history for almost three years now in terms of no symptoms and no sickness." ' - MSN what a hard place to locate simple data

Might be interesting if a women won it because i think america could do with a softer image at this moment in time.
I dont know what the feeling within america is, but outside, they are seen as this money-driven beast that is destoying the o-zone layer, and invading country after country. This could symbolize a change if nothing else.
But do women make good leaders? hmmm

nah TV was on in the backround during a ladder game. thought i heard the reporter say he was out good thing dr. shot is there to check on me. I'm actually glad someone bothers to go check out what i say and i'm sorry if a one hour radio interview with ron paul isn't considered evidence to you. maybe it wasn't really him giving the interview it must have been some high tech voice over program like they use for the osama videos.

But do women make good leaders? Two immediately come to mind in the recent past - Golda Meir of Israel Margaret Thatcher of England (and I honestly don't think rice, clinton, etc can even be COMPARED to those two) but "soft presence" isn't a word I'd use to describe them, lol. you are correct about a "softer presence" maybe - but there is only one problem with that process - they can't be "soft" to GET INTO that political position or they would never make it
