Man it feels kludgey. I loved the original, gameplay was so simplistic and the strategies you could do were great. It was also intense.
This one however is annoying. I have 2x7800GTs in Sli. The game runs slow at my monitors native res (2560x1600).
The units don't feel right, the numerous little ones are hard to keep track of yet they still take down your mines far quicker than they should. You pretty much need to have every building in range of some sort of defense. Even then a cluster of little units can suicide and take out your extractor, forcing you to constantly rebuild. It's painful to be honest. The ai has no problem with sending a unit at every undefended building you have, nor does it have a problem with quickly rebuilding extractors you manage to destroy. When you are on a map with 30 spread out extractors you simply can't keep up unless you intentionally play the ai on a low setting. You can automate pretty much everything but then you are just watching an ai vs ai game.
I do love the big units, most games never last long enough for them to be built though, unless you play on a gigantic map which is impossible to do in multiplayer due to lag.

Kludgey! Like that one . A lot of people are singing its praises, so I'll try reserve judgement until I've given it a proper going over (as it were). And hey NAGN .

LOL I can post here about a game and you will automatically buy it? Hm I need to take advantage of that. Just being a jerk sorry . Let me know what you think. I'm just trying the demo atm, but it has no MP option (and it's intended to really be an MP game).

TA was a great game, it's multiplayer was as well balanced as any game I've seen & with the addition of new units every now & then it remained replayable in MP for a long time (in games terms). If SC is as good I'd say it was a good buy.

The Final Frontier Mod in BtS is far superior
With some settings adjustments it's an incredible game and it does have MP capability - just not "team" ability
It's great in an FFA
As with all new games, it's "clumsy" (or would that be "kludgey") at first, but there is an easy walk-through guide that takes you step by step on how to play it and get "the hang of it"
note: a Firaxis employee/programmer made this mod for BtS and most believe it's in BtS as a working model/precursor to be a seperate game in the future
