2 votes for ancient, i dont get it. Consquitor host lots and lots of ancients, and often they dont even fill out and he advertises them for like 2 days or something crazy like that.

that why i dont host tourneys most times tony - pointless to try if u know they dont fill - espacially is it s then for the few who joined a pain - long wait till it start off for being kinda allone then

Well the solution I used in Civ3 was to run min-tourneys. Two rounds using 4-24 players depending on the format. The advantage is once you get one filled and there are more players, you launch it and create am identical one. Pretty quick if the TD checks the "Save these settings" box.

they didnt always fill out, but he often had a decent number - enough for a tournament.
we need folks to get off their lazy ancient inland sea cton and reni inland sea teamer asses and start playing something different. i dunno why there was so much uninterest in the tourneys. i really enjoyed the competitive edge. knowing that if u won u dont just get a report, u r through to the next round.

I think what we need is to get a few more peeps to run tourneys and when all the new ladder plays see the tourneys, they will start asking what its all about. But it not fair to expect just one or 2 peeps to run all the tourneys as I suspect they would burn out on it. Especially if they want time to play too. But not too many hosting tourneys, maybe 4-5, then coordinate so we dont conflict with each other. And have lotsa patience. I think its gonna take time to generate interest in the tourneys. I like the idea of mini tourneys, Swissy. So yer saying, if one fills, and you save settings, you can start another one rite away? I wonder if you guys that bothered to post here would help generate interest? I am looking at it prolly taking 3-6 months of work to get tourneys to be a tradition here like it was in Civ3. Let me know what u think, thanx. Catch ya all later, wtc

i agree with willtheconq, Im a fairly new ladder player but am def interested in tourney's etc, but i know nothin about them. I think if they were promoted a bit more forcefully perhaps newer players would give them a go?

lets hope that now where there is no soccer every night the tourneys will fill faster.

And would still be great with a few turneys not running late night europe. Gamestart 5PM EST is late in Europe.
