This was a very contentious issue last CCC and it was decided to play on TBG, this is your chance to for an official vote, and unless some really wierd choice wins, I'll go with the simple majority. Ofcourse feel free to comment as well as post, this is all part of the Admin/HTD teams wish to keep the CCC fresh as well as fun.

Well, I'm aware my question is out of topic, but why have you created the CCC council forum if you do not use it? In my opinion it could be much easier if each clan had a vote on this kind of question in the CCC council forum. That's a question for clan, not for forum members in my view. Well, true to say, if you think the council forum is useless, maybe remove it chris.

In my oppinion this poll should only be proposed to clan members.
Anyway on modern erea whatever selected map it should be played on HB mod and cylindrical wrap.

I'm discussing the issue of the CCCAC right now with the Admin team, to be honest, right now I don't know who deleted the original CCCAC forums but if the consensus is that that is the best way to get feedback for future CCC's then I'm certainly willing to re-instate it. But for now all votes(and 90% of forum posters for that matter) are clan members.

Speaking of peculiar interests. Why do we have a sudden serge in votes for hub? I expected to see a closer run between TBG and Fractal instead of Hub. If a couple of you that voted for Hub would be so kind as to explain why, I would much appreciate it.

For serious competition like the CCC, most players seem to prefer the maps that were designed with the MP side of Civ in mind. Playing a map like Fractal results in very random starts. A player displaced from the rest of his or her team is usually in an awful situation and pretty screwed.
Playing maps like Hub, TBG, Inland Sea, etc. at the very least allows for teams to be placed together where they can use teamwork in the team game as a key to their success.

If a couple of you that voted for Hub would be so kind as to explain why, I would much appreciate it. That's democratie DTA. Everyone is free to vote something else than TBG or Fractal. Hub is a quite good map on indus, modern or future to play both sea battles and big tank stacks with railroad in center of map. The other main advantage of hub is that you can win without oil which is totally excluded on TBG. Linked to cylindrical wrap option you can manage very tenced and exciting games.

OK, would toroidal wrap not be better then cylindrical?
and thank you CBP for the response. You are correct that everyone can vote for whichever they wanted. I was just curious as to the reasons behind the vote so to better understand it.

I know some people's computers can't handle the Toroidal Wrap for some reason. If I recall correctly, Stin could never play a game with Toroidal Wrap on, or on Fantasy Realm which defaults to Toroidal. Probably not the best setting when it can be buggy like that for people.

I prefer Hub for modern games, it brings out the naval part of the game. its really the only time you can build a decent navy that you can actually use.

Yeah random maps like Fractal and some others should probably be 1 city elimination. That's one thing I miss about civ3. You could stage a comeback with 1 city elim.
