It wouldn't be a bad to idea if CCC matches required the host to click the anonymous setting when civs are being picked. When anonymous setting is clicked no civs are shown in the staging room except for yours. This would allow different civs to make their way into the match. As it stands right now the picking civs doesn't allow much flexibility on what civs are being picked. When both teams are done picking their civs have everyone in the staging room clicks in. The host then unchecks anonymous setting to make sure there are not any duplicate or any banned civs being used. After the host has unchecked the anonymous setting no one in the game can switch their civs and the game is launched. This way of picking civs would be a lot fairer then current format we have now (12121). This would especially help in the 1v1 event where the 2nd player always has the advantage, because they can counter the 1st player's civ. Obviously, there is a certain amount of responsibility required of the host but as long as we all stay honorable I foresee no problems using anonymous.

Temporarily using the Anonymous option to hide civ picks is an interesting alternative to the alternating picks method we currently use. It would take away the option to counter specific civ choices or to copy civ choices -- each team picks their civs, the Anonymous option is unchecked, and then civ choices are reviewed to ensure they meet CCC rules (no duplicate leaders, no banned civs, etc.). Choosing civs in this manner may ultimately encourage greater leader variety and new strategies, both of which are good things.

I am sure it will cause some fair-play problems with some ;D but i think anonymous could be a good think, for strategy and variety as said before

I also support this idea, I never understood how it benefited the higher rank to pick first.

You can't play with the Anonymous setting on when more than one player picks the same leader, which is allowed (and as well it should be!) in CCC events.

What ever happened to the higher ranking captain making two teams and the lower ranking captain getting first choice of which of the two teams he wanted?
I think that was THE fairest way to pick a teamer because neither captain knew which team they were going to get until after teams were made - thus - making the teamer, most often, VERY fair teams.

Nothing wrong with that, except this is the CCC, and the teams are already made

This thread is about picking civs, not about picking teams. It's also about the CCC (as it's in the CCC forum), where teams are already picked by the clans.

Anonymous mode seems really buggy though, even if you are only checking it temporarily. That game we played last week, as soon as you clicked the anonymous mode button i could only see 5 of 6 players. Then when the game started it split.
