Dear Friends:
I have posted a DRAFT CCC35 schedule and rules. I made my best efforts to satisfy everyone, but that is clearly difficult with differing opinions regarding Warlords, time schedules, map types, etc.
I spread out the timeframes for the events and I made a few changes based on previous suggestions (map type in Future for example, Ironman is now random CIVs).
Please make any comments or suggestions for improvement to THIS CCC by Friday, August 18th when the ruleset/schedule will be finalized.
Thanks, SPM

1vs1= ok Futur on inland sea= BAH, on hub it is more tactics, on inland sea all 3 players put mech in galleon and go kill one guys (like indus islands). cton=ok 3vs3 indus = IMAO, TBG? and random civs??? lol that's a joke. Ironman= why random civ? will be more unbalanced than never. 3vs3 TBF = ok Renaissance = ok Medieval = bah dont like city razing checked but np, it is cool. Ancien titled axis suck, this map sucks, lot of jungle, jungle everywhere. And this damn SHUFFLE for random is again here, that's the worst... OCC= ok Where is the classical ?, that was a fun Event. Some problems again i fear, but you did what you could SPM, that's not so bad.

I just have few questions :
Why playing random civ on indus start and ironman?
What about barbs on events 3 and 4?
Futur on inland sea looks good. Tactics on hub were locked.
Bye.

I am seeing some good suggestions. Remember this is a DRAFT and we will make some changes on Friday once we see a consensus emerge.

There are others maps than Inland sea. For future, simpler prohibit space victory, same effect Tilted axis = the worst map And Random/Random = zero Ironman, civs random and Vanilla !!!!!

IMHO, the ironman is the one match that HAS to be Civ4, most people may not have issues with WL's but it takes only one person in the ironman with WL's issues and the whole thing gets scrapped before turn 50......

If your gonna use Warlord, have fun resolving a late game drop that causes an unjoinable/ unreloadable game, classical with no huts is a good event. Yes, its a race for Oracle at the start, but the new effectiveness of chariots and the change of traits on Gandhi make for a better game. Classical was a crapshoot before because of the huts. One team getting multiple free techs made for lopsided games. Without huts I think classical could be one of the better era starts on the right map.
The Grudge seems a bit much. There are some absolute stinker trait combos for a game in that advanced of era. There are also a few primo UUs, America, Germany and England, that could make very unbalanced games from launch.

Saw the schedule and it looks pretty darn good, balanced and inclusive. Great Job!
One question, will the CTON be anonymous?
One comment on ironman: If you feel random civs is so unblanced (and I disagree), then why dont you make everyone start with the exact same civ to be conducted by random draw 15 minutes prior to the start of the event ;D

ironman with random civ is so unfair ! Especially if it's civ4. Rather get reverse picking (best current ccc rank picks last) than that !
Indu on team battle ground small with 3 settlers (from what i remember)... a joke ? Guess it's been tested but seems quite small map for such an event.

It's a good draft Indus on TBG is not a good idea I guess. Maybe a classic TBG would be better than again an ancien on titled axis. chris.

A few comments: Event 1 -- good as always Event 2 -- I like the map change, Hub was too defensive and favored the Space Race too much Event 3 -- hard to mess up the cton Event 4 -- will this be TBG top vs. bottom all land or left vs. right with the river in the middle? Event 5 -- Wheel will make for a nice change I think Event 6 -- the classic settings for an ancient teamer, I like it Event 7 -- perfect as is Event 8 -- almost perfect, but I would prefer to have no city razing not checked here Event 9 -- 2 ancient teamers 3 CCC's in a row now, would be nice to change it up here Event 10 -- I like the Random/Random as is Event 11 -- this event was a lot of fun in the last CCC, I'm glad it's returning Overall great event lineup, and thanks for posting it early for comments! The only changes I would make are to turn off the no city razing in the Medieval event and to re-evaluate Event 9. Maybe we can have two Renaissance teamers this time around instead of two Ancient teamers? 3v3 TBG Standard Renaissance would be a nice substitute for the second Ancient in Event 9 for this CCC.

yes yes yes CS ironman civ4 vanilla pls, it did run VERY fine last 3 times, why change espacially when we know that there are HUGE issues in late game with lot units
I dont even know new traits, eh and random civs? I d like to play random civs once traits are balanced, but as long as traits arent balanced random civs is pure crap

I think that no city razing should be unchecked in medieval start, I've seen some comments about that earlier. About indus start, you didn't specify the settings for TBG map. I think (and hope it is left / right, but it has to be written explicitly.

Yeh I don't like having 2 ancient teamers. It's been like this the last couple CCC's. Switching it up a bit would be good.

For medieval, i don't understand why no city razing is check. With 2 city elim it's a bit ... unusual at least

I believe we had the discussion about Industrial on TBG for the last CCC and decided against it. Why try it again here? I like it on islands mainly cause ..A.. owned, and I do think you can defend our strategy that CCC. Since most people except Tommy complained about it though and we're not using Hub for future this time, maybe put Indus on Hub map. Not being able to use boats in later eras is just lame to me.
We also have 2 ancient events but no modern event. Modern is a fun era to play, why not have it?
I agree with Mookie the 2v2 OCC was fun. That event should be a keeper.

BTW thanks for spreading out the events a little on Saturday. I do like Tommy's suggestion from the last CCC about a 12th event. Maybe Saturday between say 5-8pm EDT. Still need that Modern event. Hint Hint.
