This is the place to make your comments about the CCC XXV Rules and Schedule. Please notice, compared to last time:
a) Friday events moved up earlier in the day b) Durations of matches generally shorter c) Maps generally smaller
I did read and try to react to everyone's suggestions last time - so fire away this time, as well.
Best, SPM

I`d like to suggest a change for the team battleground maps, i think north vs south should be the option.
Otherwise we can get that west vs east which provides a barrier in the middle of map that makes it much more harder to attack and therefor make a more interesting game. The four corners map should be a map for 4 teams too.
Some more ideas:
a) I hoped for a archipelago, ice age or conts map for renaissance start, makes up more options for such a game.
b) In my eyes we should avoid the inland sea / ring / hub maps in teamers cause game will be more tense when the attack of enemies is not so predictable (comming only from one direction) - how about making med start on lakes f.e.
c) Also i like to suggest a OCC event - with the right settings its a great game. Future is at least atm not very popular. F.e. OCC could be 2vs2vs2vs2 on a teambattle map four corners, also i liked it maybe 4on4 or 6on6 on same map north vs south with team not starting together. Starting age should be at least classical.

Yes and we do have a balanced OCC scenerio in the mods section. All resources within 5 tiles of cap I think. I know the OCC teamers in c3c are just wonderful to play.

Given how there are so many Ancient era games (there are in fact two almost identical 2v2 Ancient games), it's a bit of a shame that there isn't an Industrial start at all. Not that the CCC will be any less fun, but my vote is for variety in future CCCs.
I expect there's some history behind a lot of these formats which I'm unaware of, but still. What makes a "Grudge-match" a match with grudges and not just another 2v2 ancient start?

Given that the fast timer seems to have gotten faster in this last patch, would it be reasonable to have a medium timer for the medieval and later starts? Future fast even before was insane to get everything done, and now would be just a big clickfest in my opinion.

Islandia is right. There is a(nother) bug in this patch where the advanced era starts have a clock which is way too fast.
I have slowed down the clock from fast to medium in those events.
SPM
PS: I also set the team battleground maps for Top/Bottom (North South) division, instead of random, as per GCUnimatrix_Zero's suggestion.

2 questions :
- why "barbs on" in renaissance event ?
- is Space victory ON in future event ? Don't find it fun in a teamer event where we hope for some action, and space victory can me achieved so fast in this event.

I removed SPACE RACE victory condition from FUTURE.
Some events have barbs, but most are Barbs off.
With the mirror map, its reflections and varied landmass and sea level medium.

Whoa? Space race was removed?! That changes the landscape considerably, and not for the better. I'd go so far as to say that's a major strategy and game-changing move. The team that swept through the Future Event last time used no space race victories - it's not as though it's a devastating option. It does, however, make Future a great deal more resource-dependent, a very unfortunate choice. Space Race is a quite balanced choice - if you build it, you are sinking shields into something that gives you no dividends for defense, offense, scouting, or development. Did we miss the part where it takes, what, 9 or 10 total builds to launch the ship? I'm very surprised by this move in the face of all the talk of early game devastating dagger rushes.... there was no logical, balance-related reason for this move. As far as I know, only one match in the entire last Future Event was decided by space. There's plenty of action in future. Why was this move made?

Maybe we could turn off the diplomatic victory, too? It might be VERY easy to achieve this in a team-vs-team situation.
Imo, the space race is very dependant on aluminium. Add the space elevator (double speed with aluminium) and you get a quick path to victory.

I am a bit concerned that 110 turns is too short with the new patch. I know the intent is to allow multiple rounds in a reasonable amount of time. But really only gives about 70 turns to do anything.
I agree with Fried about no reason to remove space victory. The other team will now you are attempting to build the ship and will built military and attack you. As for 2v2v2v2 games, I dont want to see them, as even if your they strongest team out there by far, if you get double teamed your done. Happened to me, Tommy and Slaughter a week ago in an industrial start, so I know what that is like.

the scedule was quite perfect .. why are there some worsechanges made???
fast timer really very ok for med and ren - I tried medium once for med ... boooooring
I have no experience on futre - there migth medium fit and I guess fried is right .. why not give people the option - only resson to turn spacerace off d be some scare resoucre needed what could really scuk for 1 team - not sure how scare resources are
uh ya and 120 turns should be really the default after patches which made things more expensive and last 20 turns count less

Question on 4 event max per individual. Does the limit apply to Fri, Sat, and Sunday's (top 8) -OR- Fri and Sat events only.
Also, I wanted to thank you for slowing down that superfast timer as well. Its way too fast!
And also echo support for the space race as a strategic option.
Thanks,
My future request for an event I would like to see is ( and go ahead and start the flames) is a random event teamer. Map random, era random, civs random, etc. etc... (ok maybe not speed rdm) just to potentially add a little spice and unpredictability to one (and only one)event.
Thanks :-)

With the mirror map, its reflections and varied landmass and sea level medium. I tryed a game with varied landmass on mirror map. I began on an island of 1 tile !!! Do you imagine !! nothing else than water (quite amaizing to don't need worker lol). you need about 50 turns to build a boat and a settler... Small Lakes landmass type should be a better idea.
