Unfortunately it's not officially published except to say that it should be close the the requirements for Pirates.

I checked through GameSpy and they had a button at the bottom of the info screen where you could check your system to find out if you could run the game. It did state that the requirements it gave were not the final ones. According to it, I needed to upgrade my vid card to one with HT&L. But passed all the other recomended with flying colors..
I have Pirates! and it plays awesome on my system. I have upgraded my RAM since the last time I played it.

Yes but notice at the top it states that system requirements are not final, and therefore either are the results.

The system requirements should mean that those with crappy computers will not be able to play. The implication is that things should be just that little more stable; vast differences between processing speeds of computers is a frequent cause of lag - Just thinking out loud really - I'm one of the lucky ones but it seems we will lose some good players for a while.

This was a european company talking, CIV may very well be released standard on DVD in europe, but all the box art on NA retailer sites says "PC CD-ROM" on the front.

make sure you look at the reason for the "failed" (it shows each result/requirement beneath the answer).
Mine said "failed" because of my current video card and recommended that I go out and buy a different one - the different one they recommended? They recommended the older, less capable video card that I recently upgraded from, lol!

As I understand it the European versions are DVD only, the site I ordered at states a DVD Rom drive is required.
My PCgamer also turned up with a revue which mentioned late game crashes & described the game as "not stable".
