Many times I've been told it is illegal to invite a member of a clan to join another clan. Although if this rule a) exists or ever existed I think its a kinda silly rule. I look at it like this were all individuals and can say no thank you or yes i would be interested. My question is a) is this rule in effect or ever in effect B) if so when was it removed from rules if its no longer in effect or if its still in effect where is it located? Also if it ever existed why was it ever started to begin with? PS sorry if stupid question just was hearing it a couple times and think some folks maybe confused for some reason. It is only natural that if you got many friends some maybe in different clans than you are and you both will ask one another to join each others clan. ;D

As far as I know there is no rule it's just politeness really. If someone is in a clan I don't try and poach them. If however they approach me and ask, then it's different in my eyes.

Not really poach just say to a friend hey I'm in blah blah clan and would love for ya to be here because we are good friends. As it is natural for you to wanna hang around with friends not people you donut like. Its just general question of legalities not to harm any clan or organization.

Many times I've been told it is illegal to invite a member of a clan to join another clan. Bleh. If they were a clan leaders or officers then maybe from their point of view it's illegal to steal "their" players But the truth is that players aren't a property or employees of a clan. They're their own. That also answers your second question, who started to say about that "rule". It's mostly a leaders/officers of bad/unsuccessful clans who think that's it's unfair if someone "steals" "their" players to a better/more successful clans. Anyway, the best way to avoid problems is not to join any clans for some time if it's not necessary. After all, many don't like clan hopping themselves or don't like if others do it.

well thanks ellestar I agree 100% with your comments the situation was very extreme that I was involved in was just wondering as I had read the rules throughly. That rule was mentioned mostly because many were unhappy with a leaders decision despite a clan vote he made opposite decision of the vote anyways. He didn't confirm his decision with anyone I decided to leave many followed after I left and originally I was gonna remain clanless for a while. My friends started contacting me and asked what I was gonna do now. Basically after long discussion me and my very best friend were asked by all the defected to start a clan. 48 hours latter I put site together. The reason for my question was because I was threatened constantly by the former clan leader cause he believes some how i conspired to steal his members and he was gonna have my clan removed. I'm not like my former leader and wouldn't lie and have no reason to lie but I did talk and keep in contact with my friends and did what they asked in order for us as a group of friends to stay together. I personally agree 100% with the fact that no one here is too dim to make their own decisions and most are grown men or women or very near it. Was just wondering so I could tell this individual to shove it so to speak. ;D I've checked everywhere and find no such rule anywhere civ 3 or 4 and simply think this individual is lieing. I was hoping for an admin input or someone with knowledge of most rules past and present to help me obtain knowledge of this supposed rule to give me a knowledge of its existence if and when it ever existed though so I know weather or not they are full of it.

The Ladder administration sees no reason to regulate clan activities except within the scope of the CCC. My personel ethics(being a clan captain) is that I will not approach a clan member to join KC unless (s)he approaches me first, and even then I'll tell the other clan captain first to keep things all above board and honest. I personally think that recruiting members of other clans is unprofessional and lacks respect for the other clans, but many clans don't have my opinions and there is no ladder rules on this subject.
