Classical start, that's why you can see all the resources on the map.

Since SophII is not around anymore and the map doesn't work with patch 1.61, i've made a new map that could be suitable for every eras.
Let me know if it works ok or not ;D
///Download OCCBalanced161 ZIPPED 2 Kb ///Download OCCBalanced161 NOT ZIPPED 5 Kb
///Unzip in the PublicMaps folder of Civ4.
============================= EDIT : Obsolete post, see below for MOD+MAP download link and instructions.

Mmm, we've just tried it in 4v4 and didn't work... oos and/or no hill, no sea Tried it 1v1+3 AI and worked fine, don't know why... If someone know, all players have to already have the *.py file in PublicMaps with patch 1.61 ??

I think it's better to have *_t.py in PublicMaps or it OOS.

I think you're right, Ellestar. I've modified SophII OCC Mod+Map and made a setup program for it. We've just tested it in renaissance era 3 players (Mookie, Alienator and me) vs 3 AI and it worked fine. Remember a MOD must be launched for Civ4 Advanced Menu or from Civ4fans (ModCentral menu). Here is the detail of the MOD+MAP : Download setup program here : www.civ4fans.com/OCCModSetup.exe

Maybe I should change the industrious trait for OCC, +50% wonder in OCC is a too big advantage I think. Maybe +20% instead or giving other advantage.
Btw, didn't post in description but some other things are modified : - ancient era starts with a free worker. - not sure, but there shouldn't be any hut.

I think if you were making changes like that, you should buff the other few crappy traits instead. I'm thinking:
org - godawful. maybe eliminate unit upkeep or something? or something else entirely. cre - godawful. either a whole whole lot of culture, or maybe extra happiness too, or something else totally. spi - ok, not so amazing with 1 city imo. maybe a little extra bonus to match the quality of ind or phi or exp. agg - fine, if you like killing things. phi - great. exp - great. ind - great.

You're right, if I make a new OCCMOD version, I'll have to change traits. First think I'll have to do is to change the industrious trait : +50% if a too big advantage in OCC, while others like ORG are useless.

i've been playing this OCC mod map and it isnt perfectly balanced and OCC balanced doesnt seem to work. is there a c4p map (which seem to be totally balanced) for occ.

The MOD itself only changes some game settings, no change to the maps :
- AI can't make settlers but will keep conquered cities.
- Game starts with : 1 settler and 1 defensive unit whatever the era. 2 workers max (depending on era).
- Cultural victory possible with 1 city : --45 000 for fast game --90 000 for normal --125000 for epic --250000 for marathon
=====> so you'll have to use the OCCModMap bundled with the mop. This map is the same as "c4f_pangea" bundled with civ4fans, a better "Balanced" map. You could also use any of the "c4f_*" maps that are highly balanced versions of most popular maps.
Notice that ALL players in the game MUST have the maps in their publicmaps folder before starting the MOD/Game (all civ4fans users will have "c4f_*" maps, all OCCMOD_161 users will have OCCModMap). If not, game will OOS or not even load.

Thank you eiffel. any possibility of a c4f style, ultra balanced occ map? the mod seems better (i especially like the cultural victory) but it is such a pain makining with only people who have c4f. may be c4f could be advertised on the ladder home page (?).
