Speaking as a non american i think it would improvement if the civ community to hold tourneys in a variety of timezones eg Australian, European, American That means you could have three futures etc and there is no stopping people playing all three if they dont need sleep Advantage is you include more people and represent a wider part of the community Madmax

I would love to see that. We need more TD's in those time zones though.

I'm one of those who live in the western half of the USA and is 3 hours behind the majority of NA players. I'm now a TD and will start hosting tournements as soon as possible (maybe when they let the beta testers play ladder?)

I would expect that with the number of new players we're expecting to see, some of them will be happy - and appropriate - to TD, many of them not in North American traditional timeslots.

Majority of players are from Eastern NA and Europe, Germany and the UK mainly. Eastern NA has plenty of TD's, Europe is lacking, Australia has none I think and Western NA has very little as well. The more TD's the better... I guess

Remember that the number of players we have from Civ3Players that will transition to Civ4Players is probably a drop in the bucket of the total number we'll see. Civ4 MP is a LOT better than C3C MP - so we're probably going to see double (or even triple? ) our C3C membership around here. Don't make any assumptions about where they'll be from just yet.

Yes I am a Kiwi, but I was living in Australia but now I live in Bangkok which is about 7 hours ahead of Greenwich. But I won't be playing MP till at least Jan and even then I will have to decide if I want to be a TD again (I probably will as I do like supporting the ladder).
