beautiful ... took advantage of the downtime yesterday and installed massive updates to my pc ... didn't think there would be any fallout but this report got me worried. driveragent.com/?PHPSESSID=68m4a78tcnm0ob05hhp2dcdl00 This is a very useful tool to find out dated drivers on your system especially if you are updating for VISTA

There may be one depending upon the nature of the failure. Check civstats for the last (or second last) player to have made the turn and look for the Pitboss Recovery <player name> file. Check Properties and if the time is right load that. It will reload the game to the point just before the failure.

Re recovery file ... no. I took the auto save. Have no idea where the recovery file is and I don't think it matters now because everyone has taken their turn unless you want me to look for it and try the turn again? lost internet connection and pc locked up ... not sure why... its back up now but the last turn will need to be played as I was unable to save ... had to load from auto save Do you look for the Recovery File? Sunday Night/Monday morning - 01:18 GMT
Can't connect to game - after many tries, it just says "The connection attempt to the host has timed out"
CivStats says the game is UP and the clock is working
This has been for about 4 hours now.
Oh well, always tomorrow.

my ip address changed recently ... are you using warningu2.no-ip.org ?
I'm shutting the game down until 5am EDT ... there is just over an hour and a half on the clock. MMV is the only person yet to play. I'm assuming you are using the wrong IP address MMV and this will allow you to play in the morning.

Thanks - The email you sent out on 7 October said to use 24 57 235 216 or warningu2.no-ip.org
I had been using the 24 57 235 216 for the past 14 turns (since your change on 7 Oct) and it's worked fine.
I've now switched to the alternate and it seems to work.
Thanks for posting

This message is coming from work. My home internet connection is down. The cable tech is scheduled to come out tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon. Assuming he fixes it, the game will be back up tomorrow evening. Be forewarned though; the last time this happened it took 3 visits from 3 techs and over a week to finally fix the problem.

LOL just talking to y in game CH, without noticing you had overtaked MD's civ.
BTW: Is he out for good, or are you just a temp. sub ? If he is withdrawing compleetly, he must do a lot of reporting, and ClassHero must join ladder.
And please relax a bit MMV, rules are made to get the community working fair and smootly, no reason to enforce a rule upon our self, only for the sake of the rule itself.

Why does that matter? He is substituting for a turn or two until MD returns. No reporting is required in the meantime until the next benchmark.

I can't believe that as a former Admin and Moderator that you could wonder/ask "why would it matter" when we are in a ladder game.
The ladder has rules that cover everything
There are even rules about substituting, as well as all the other ladder rules
Hence, the ladder and the ladder players that join it and play on it
If it doesn't matter, then it's not a ladder game
(and many hours later "classical_hero" has still not done the simple act of joining the ladder)
As the host, you're supposed to ensure the rules are followed
(same rules)
All of them
Please feel free to privately email me for further information
Thanks

I have no intent to enforce this "rule".
Had MD been away for more than a few days then Classical Hero should join but he is just doing a favour for Md .
If everyone else playing this game objects then I'll enforce a rule that I don't think matters in this instance... and I guess you would be justified in putting me in place. Right now you are the only person to draw exception to this.
The truth of the matter if MD has left we won't be able to find another substitute and I'll have to drop the game until the weekend. I'm not sure what purpose that will solve.
