Out of curiousity, I tried to download the game after the patch today and it says wrong version and boots you
That's the normal pattern after a patch isn't it - unplayable?
Game dead?

There's a patch? Great. Well I guess that's it. Game over unless we can figure some way out of this friggin mess with people that have installed the patch. Why they can't make these downwards compatible is just laziness. All my pitboss games now will have issues. I've stopped the game. Perhaps there is some way of having two installs? I don't know if I upgrade whether it will allow the game to continue? Likely with BTS coming out there will be people getting that and wanting to play that game? Do we continue folks or call the game?

We can continue the game if we all just patch up. I'm not sure exactly what happened; but what was supposed to happen is that the warlords patch to v2.13 was supposed to have come out simultanioulsy with the release of bts which will automatically patch warlords.
Bottom line is that we should be ok to continue once everybody installs bts or downloads and installs the v2.13 patch.

Ok thats good news. Thanks Whip. I'm hesitant to update immediately though because of the other games I am in. I'm going to post my intent in the Klammi game and see what reaction I get. I will resume this game tomorrow evening assuming by then we can all upgrade.

Or run a dual install of Warlords in the meantime, that worked ok when the last patch came out.

I have patched to 2.13, this is certainly consensus with other games I am in, and seems most common sense way forward is for all to patch to this. Just let us know when everyone is patched and we are ready to go again ;D

Tamijo asked this question a ways back in this thread ... didn't realize it was there. So there is no confusion - Double moves are not permitted. That said, to be fair to all including the aggressor lets decide on this:
When involved in a battle and you are taking your turn and you happen to be the last player to play so the turn flips over, please wait until your opponent has an opportunity to respond by waiting at least 9 hrs before taking your next turn.
I think this gives the player an opportunity to play his turn and you an opportunity perhaps to move advantageously. I think double moves in real time game play although annoying as hell are just a matter of course and somewhat representative of troops on the field of battle having a better commander or equipement to move and encircle their opponents. However in Pitboss because of game mechanics it would be highly unfair for a player to just happen to be the last player and beat or kill an opponent this way. We would see everyone in pitched battles running the clock in the hope of getting the double move. That would really slow the game down.
If anyone disagrees with the 9 hr rule please let me know but I think thats fair.

I've corrected Tamjo and IanDc having the wrong CIVs selected in CIVSTATS.
You will each have to select your appropriate leader and register again in civstats for this game. The password of course is blueballs.
So IanDc select Mansa Mula for Mali and Tamijo select Elizabeth for England.
I also see that Cyrus is not registered ... is that MMV now of Cognito? MMV please register in CIVSTATS. When diplomacy starts CIVSTATS is a handy communication method. I believe the emails still work

We have a little bit of an issue .... A couple of turns back IanDC and myself discovered that we are on the same continent. It's a large continent but we're there sharing the same bed so to speak. I mention it because the game setup / premise was supposed to be one civ per continent. This would limit somewhat civ allies early in the game trading techs and getting an advantage. Later in the game only those civs that travel across the ocean would be able to trade techs. As we're on the same continent that does provide us an advantage. Perhaps other civs have run across each other too? If so no harm no foul. But I didn't want someone to freak later in the game learning this so I thought I'd share it and let the people playing decide on our options. So the options are in my mind: 1) Do nothing 2) No Trading Rule For myself and IanDC. We would restrict trading until at least 1 other civ starts trading. Meaning that if we chose this option one of the other civs would need to notify us. Perhaps we could use a 3rd party ie. CS so their id is kept secret. I would just get a note from CS saying in your game one of the other CIVs have started diplomacy with another. Then IanDC and myself could commence trading. 3) Restart the game. Please let me know what your thoughts are. Obviously I do not want #3 but I'll leave it out there. Alternatively though ... perhaps people are thinking man I wish I'd started this with BTS. Assuming of course everyone playing here is getting BTS in the near future.
