open port 2056 udp in youre router if you have a router and dissable the routers firewall hmm im sure i posted this yesterday but owe well If you don’t want to be a “bad peer” make sure you have port 2056 open for UDP traffic in your firewall and forwarded to your computer by your router (assuming you have a router) and/or try restarting civilization while holding down shift key and/or make sure you have gamespyarcade installed. Forward port open UDP Port 2056 in Router NAT Configuration. 2056 any where it says server IP address put any as in the word any [C4PHelper]Bants

I have gotten that error and I don't have a router and don't run a firewall.
I also get it from time to time in a PitBoss game that I am hosting.

Well sure we all get it now and then but if it happens frequently and you havnt got port 2056 forwarded id suggest you do it you also have to open port 2056 in XP firewall (even if its dissabled) and Norton (if you have norton)
regards any other antivirus software if it has a firewall built in to it make sure civ is on the allowed lists
