I just ordered computer parts for a new computer, though thanks for the offer, but if I ever needed one couldn't I just go to like staples and buy a new one?
Also by ordering the parts online instead of buying a pre-built one from Best Buy, I saved around $300.

Yea building your own always saves you cash not to mention they are far more upgradeable as for an purchasing a copy of XP I suggest you buy the pro version and the average cost is around 200.00 bucks retail so in effect you only save 100 bucks =( . btw if you still have the product key for your oem version that may very well work on a normal xp install disk so see if you can get a copy from a friend first try that.

I wasn't talking about a copy of windows, but theres alot of utilities that work great at restoring windows.

Coming late to this thread, but from what I can read - this is so strange. Why didn't he just buy a copy of Windows XP and reinstall?
EDIT: Nevermind, I guess he just wanted to upgrade all his nuts anyway.

I got the ordered parts but it's a series of headaches. The keyboard never arrived, the graphics card is the wrong kind so have to return it, and I completely don't remember how to assemble a computer and only the motherboard gave instructions which don't match with the names on the pins on the case. This game better be worth it...

I have another question: Is there a correlation between pin color and whether the pin is positive/negative? I have a reset switch with two pins, one is white and one is blue, which one is positive and which one is negative?

Well, I got the computer up and running, except for one problem... I didn't get a version of Windows XP Home Edition because apperently they come seperately. Tell me, is there any way I can skip around buying one for $200 so I can just get to gaming?
And by "skip around" I mean getting one without buying a new CD, not skipping getting one all together.
