Does anyone know if wifi connection works better than ethernet when playing online games
my isp said wireless was faster but im not too sure
I have 100Mbps ethernet on broadband 1.1Mbps
but the wireless was only 56Mbps
is it possible that the wireless connection can download faster?

If you can run a wire, no reason to use wireless really.

In practice the wired network will be faster. Unless you're networking a lot of PCs though, this won't really matter. The bottleneck will still be your broadband connection not your local network.
Wireless is very cool - it's so nice not to have cables trailing round my house. But wireless can also be incredibly frustrating when you run into signal problems because of the buidling design or interference from next-door.

You don't need a lot of bandwidth for games. 1 Mbps will be more than enough for any game. You need a small consistent ping (no spikes) and no packet loss. So, wired will always be better than wireless.

So, wired will always be better than wireless. agreed wireless or wired is completely irrelevant for internet use as the internet is most likely 1 or 2 mbps wireless ranges from around 5-54 mbps, while ethernet is a solid 100 biggest reason to go wired is to avoid any unnecessary packet loss - which will have a much bigger impact on your gaming than and speed issues only benefit of wireless is not trailing wires - in all other respects, wired is better
