After I downloaded the patch, when boot up civ, It now says my System Requirements are Not enough to run civ. WHat changed? My comp is Smokeing. I bought the Latest and Greatest when I started Beta testing with Civ.
Well, Civ did run in SP. I went to the lobby to join a game, and it sat there waiting to connect for what seemed an Eternity.
Did system REquirements get more STringent, Or did something get changed in the patch?
Or any help at all would be nice.
Yours Truely.

Funny enough RAy prepatched I ran the gamefine, now postpatched I get the same message, and no one helps, all I hear is you too low requirements so ladi dadi da, Even tho game runs fine in SP :/ and ran fine PrePatched, so I wouldnt expect much help, but after your patch if youhave a firewall, you DO need to give Civ4 internet access again.

I have the same message, but it runs fine in SP. Not sure if I've tried an MP game since being patched (haven't been doing that much lately).

Yes I did once. I kept getting kicked out of the MP lobby. I thought that was supposed to be fixed with the patch.

Ill double check my specs when I get home, but I have like 2 gb Memory, The new graphics system.
I went into Best Buy, and said "Give me the Most expensive Hewett Packard you got." It is set up so I can Watch Live TV while playing Civ3. (sometimes tough when a good football game is on.)
I played a lagg free open game at lunch, but it still says my system Requirements will not run this game.
Ill modify this post tonight.

I think the problem lies in your video card Ray... Everything else looks great. Maybe more RAM in future though.

Min specs are 512 ram for WIndows XP, He has 1 gig, if he needs more than 1 gig perhaps Firaxis should have posted minimum specs at 1 gig and not 512. But, yes According to APolyton, no Intel Graphics Card meets minimum requirements.

Yeah 1Gig of RAM is totally fine, and the rest of the specs seem fine aswell, its pretty close to what i have and civ4 runs very very smooth on my comp. But the graphics card is probally whats causing the problems, i used to have a Intel graphics card ... Lets just say not a good idea. LOL i think this dudes signature says all that needs to be said: forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=133278

To reiterate, I can play online, I did play with these graphics on the Beta test, but it still says my comp wont support it.
But I can play.
Interesting.

With the new patch, they added the message to be brought up when a video card does not have hardware T&L support. Can't remember what exactly that stands for off the top of my head, but basically shading and other similar things. But if the game works, great consider yourself lucky. In my experience, intel graphics suck and can't hardly do anything. Just an extremely cheap workaround for a real graphics card.
Nvidia or ATI is the way to go.

He's right, in the computer world especially you really do get what you pay for. So save those pennies for longer and save yourself some grief. It took me a year to save up for my computer and it cost me a whopping 850 Earth pounds. But it was worth it. I can play on huge maps with 20 ai's and no slow down. Admittedly not everyone can afford or stand to wait atm, but if your going to upgrade go for a mid range graphics card at least. Something with 256Mb and some whistles and bells throw in for good measure.
