Okay here's the problem. 3 weeks ago i bought a brand new laptop with the advice from CS and others about the laptop and CIV works on it. I go to BestBuy, get the computer bring it home and, yeah! CIV WORKS! but... the bloody internet doens't. So I give it the good old college try and i cannot get it to work. What happens is when I turn the laptop's internet wireless switch on it picked up a signel from my router, but in the process knocks out 2 other laptops and this desktops interent, but not even my laptop works. I then went back to best buy and they believe its the router. So i buy a brand new spankin router bring it home, and by golly to me it looks exactly the same.... I try to set it up and guess what, same problem. So the next day i go back to BestUBy tell um what i did, and they put the router up in their store anmd say, it works, so i bring ithome confident that it will work, but you know life sucks. I set it up and this time I get hwat he saw at the store, and my other computers pick up the signal.. BUT none still work. plz, some one tell me wtf to do.

Dear "Depressed in Baton Rouge,"
Connect the Cat5 cable/plug that extends from your router into the wall-jack.
(but seriously - can you connect your laptop directly to the internet going around the router/home-network?)

the network cable (kinda looks like a phone-line cable but a bit larger)
if it works on best buys system, but not yours, is it a network card compatability issue?
FIRST try to get the laptop connected directly to the internet and see if it works that way - if it does, then it's a good chance it's your router/home-network.
That at least gives you a place to start.
Sorry Immo, you didn't really give out enough information to specifically help.
