I started playing occ for the sole reason that there are not enough good players and in an occ game an ok player can become a good player and provide a reasonable challenge. I think it would be good if they limited national wonders to 3 in occ due to players having to have slightly different strategies to win. I totally agree with everyone on the issue of verbal abuse. Its wrong to be verbally abusive to players in games.... I try to leave the verbal abuse till after the game when there are 50 plus people listening as opposed to the 5 to 9 which are normally in a game. Its no longer worth my time to abuse one newb at a time, its much better to make examples out of them that way I don't have to repeat myself so often.

Ah, Italiano. From being Permanetaly banned from the ladder to cheating to denigrating. Now i see why im in the box, you felt alone being boxed two weeks and you desperately wanted that somebody else had to suffer for that too. Well done

Is it just me, or does nearly every discussion thread turn toward OCC after a while? Strange that one style of game raises so much ire in people.

Managing the individual Tiles in any type of game is called Micro Managing no? Did you read the original post anyway? I guess you didn't. Why everyone starts to post before reading others posts? Sigh. Original post states "OCC is more about micro". It's like saying "OCC is more about founding cities". Yeah, sure, it's important to choose a good location and you definately do it - once. But it's not "more about it". Future or Modern is "more about micro" but OCC isn't. If you read the whole story before posting, the point of my previous post should have been obvious to you. Ellestar your welcome to join any OCC game with me and tell a noob like me how to win an OCC in an real easy way. Looking forward for a nice lesson from an expert. Well, the point of my post was that it's mostly land that decides the winner, not the player skill. Somehow you completely missed the point. Sure, i'll play you any time if i'll be able to edit our starting locations.

No Offence ellestar But as you dont play OCC guess you dont know we use a fairly evenly balanced food / resourses map now so the tile / plant location aint usually a issue anymore. to be Honest though having only 2 food tiles aint much of a problem anyway Ask DD ive seen him win a OCC with no food and half his tiles in the bloody sea. and yes I did read you original NooB reply and once again you are wrong OCC is definately more about managing your tiles. And it aint the land that desides the winner its what he does with the land that counts

Of course, you can win against a noob who can't "micromanage" even one city but that proves nothing, that noob will be even more soundly defeated in non-OCC because you'll have more options to capitalize on your skill advantage and your capital will not be the only worked land you'll have. So, in any case, OCC is the most land-dependant setup.

These are complaints from Warlords, like 6 months ago Elle. I am sure you have played an OCC recently or why would you be complaining?
Thats the question isn't it...
Play it, try it and if you like it play it again.
Otherwise accept that your strat is weak and you use land as your excuse.

These are complaints from Warlords, like 6 months ago Elle. Dont call him Elle!!! He is Ellestar or Es!!! back to topic I totally agree with Es, OCC is all about land not much skill involved. And ppl being proud of their OCC skillz, just too funny to read Ellestar would whip all your asses blindfolded thats for sure OCC or not.
