Totally agree with mookie. Teamwork has to be learned among the team mates. And thats why it works most efficient in clan teamers, where players know exactly what how your neighbour plays; where you understand each other without arguing about strategy.
We should play more of those clan fights.
And yes recently I tend to get upset very fast. Maybe i play to much. Maybe i forgot to take my pills. ^^ But mostly I dont mean the words I say. It's not always a shame to lose to a better team. You learn more from a close loss than from a glorious voctory.

Slightly offtopic: NOooo swe dont quit civ4 I will miss you! (I think i read in this thread you where getting sick of civ4 and needed a break) So easy you wont be rid of me!! ;D But... Right now im VERY fed up with how the ladder is evolving. In the good old days, it was more importent to get good and fair games and play a wide scale of diffrent settings (even if ren was clearly dominated under a period awile back also) Now i see, its more about get thís false fake reports then to get good games. Sit in stageing and arguing for 1 hour about teams and settings. And then in game its all about rushing down 1 asap to get the game over. This is just 1 example, another is that people can demand 3 rehosts in turn 5 to get the game working, just because they got slightly better civs in case it was random selection... Instead of scrap and make a new one. Or playing defence with 40-50 turns left just because "we are the leading team" no "need" to attack, just sit back and dont do nuts Things like this has made me lose motivation and inland sea ( as all that plays with me already know) And yes Mookie, it was a joke that im 99% sure it was... Oh well, in my days off ill miss my buddies of course. Like you willburn, always good mate and funny to play with. But dont worry, civ isent just a videogame, its a addiction. So ill be back for sure ;D

I believe that we really need to play more clan matches. Team game requires cooperations, which include general cooperations between team members, and some special coordinations between members who really know each other. Clan is absolutely the best way to form a team. There is only one small problem, clan is small: It takes 10 minutes to start a game without ladder. It takes 1 hour (I am always optimistic) to start a game with ladder (400 active members, rest of members are sleeping). It takes forever to start a game with clans (< 40 members). Here is my 1/2 cent: As an organization, ladder need to take responsibility to educate its members on how to play team games. Make the "clan" as big as ladder. Now we can enjoy the clan teaming and get a game started.

Add to this topic tools such as Stin who join teamer games, get picked for a team, don't like the team they have been picked for, thinking they'll get beat, so leave.
There are a number of such low-lifes on this ladder who do such nonsense...a pox on them all.
Team picking takes long enough without people dragging the process on or sabotaging it and tbh once again admins have been silent on such incidents.

Actually DD, I think its not a good sportmanship to leave from staging with any reason. But its allowed and shouldnt be changed.
If some1 obviously leaves the staging after teams are picked, it proves his poor attitude, but you cann never force him to play that game. Its his right to leave, like it is your right to avoid that player in new games-

So, we are all agreed, teamers on average suck and waste so much time. You can play 2, maybe close to 3 ctons in the time it takes to play one teamer. So why not all join me in playing primarily cton games to cut through all the B.S.
It would be nice if more knowledgeable players were in these cton games with me to have me pay for my mistakes and improve my game.
Personally I have pretty much had it with team games, long ago, and it sounds like many here have as well. Come back to cton and stop squawking about a situation that will never change with all big egos and attitudes and time wasting morons that enter the teamer staging room.

Shuffle ;D that is fast, and noone knows the outcome til is too late, so noone will leave. Hahaha, I have heard more stories than I can count of people who quit random shuffle games right after they launch because they don't think the teams are fair. Why in the world anyone would agree to a random shuffle game and then quit when they don't like the teams is beyond me.

What drives me nuts about recent teamers, besides inexperienced play, which can quickly cause a loss for your team no matter how good you are, in when people blatantly refuse an order from a team captain.
Recently I have had games where teamates had refused to follow directions as to where to attack with there units and refused to gift units. Hard to win games when you cant trust your teamates to carry out your orders.
