I wanted to join the KC message board to post this, but it seems that instead of adding me to the message board I was instantly added to the clan heh.
I am officially challenging KC to a duel............
KC - Get 17 of your best fighters and I will play them in an epic 1 v 17 game to the death!!!!!!!!
Go through your clan and spread the word, I am here and waitting............
This isn't a joke, seriously, go email everyone and find me 17 people......

What is the point of this MGT? KC is not interested in participating in a public spectacle for the mere entertainment value you somehow recieve from these events. So come up with a better reason and I will look at it then.

Listen Canuck, I have mad respect for your clan, and the only reason why I picked KC is because it has the most members out of any clan and it would be impossible to put a game together of a clan of 17 v me unless its the size of KC.
I would never do this unless I honestly thought I could win, I have a few tricks up my sleeve, please take this serious, I really want the challenege and I will be available on saturday and sunday to do this around 9AM PST.. If you guys win I will report to the entire clan, but if your chosen 17 lose, the entire clan must report to me 3 times each......
This can be negotiated ofcourse..

You just have to rig the settings ;D I'm thinking he will go 2 small team continents with 17 players on 1 and him on the other If you do it on an equal land for each player type map i will be very impressed though.

Actually if the 17 players play only one city it could foil MGT's plan. That would put 17 cities with minimal maintance, city and civics, and very low unit support, zero as long as the units remain in the city. The tech for the 17 would be quite impressive as long as they don't build more cities. Even with MGT's city spam strategy, he could fall into a permanent tech lag.

Nah tech costs are scaled up with the number of players on a team. The single player should be able to stay ahead in tech.
Getting any wonders or having a stronger military will be ery difficult though.

Maybe you should make it like one of your tourney events and add some money to the pot. Give $500 to the team if you're beaten and I would bet that KC would get 17 faster than you can imagine. Yours truely may even show up to collect some money.
Just curious what would the settings be? There is probably a way to set them to have the single player be compeditive. Hell, you crunch all the player on a continent so small that they all cant even plant city due to closer than 3 squares distance.

Ok MrGT, it looks like there is enough support for this, I can't say there will be 17 players available, and the chances of a good 18 player game are 50/50, that is alot of individual possible technical issues. Unfortunately(for my civing) Saturday is Rememberance Day and I'll be away, but I'll leave this in MMV and Bantams hands.

I would be very interested to see how many turns it will take to destroy MGT's civ - I mean 17 vs 1 ... this sounds perpostrious. Think about it 17 warriors vs 1 on turn 1 if you don't choose a civ with hunting. If this is a pangea map MGT is gonna die - it is just a matter of time - have 13 players build units and rush MGT while four build up their empire - how can he possibly win?
17 times more resources / build queues is just way too much of a lead. If huts are turned on ... ok I am curious please post a blurb on how this pans out - I gotta know :-).

I'm afraid not CS, Saturday here is the american equivilant to your "rememberance day" called "Veteran's Day"
I'll be busy all morning with memorials and "rights" and then a large family gathering - all veterans on both sides of my family - we still have WWII vets ranging in age from 81-96 so it's always a blessing to get together with them.
I trust our clan won't engage in the normal mgt tactics and strategy - no brunch; no quitting game and not coming back due to power-outage, technical issues; etc etc etc.
I encourage our clannies to play fair and properly, play by ALL the rules and set the standard of ladder fair-play and good sportsmanship. They always do so I'm sure this little "adventure" won't be a problem for them.

After reciving several messages from people, I want to address some important things. This game will be straight up, no bullnuts or cheating or anything. I will NOT be designing my own custom map or manipulating the settings in an unfair way. I am still up in the air for which common map I will be chosing for this event, its looking along the lines of HUB. It is down to 4 different maps to chose from and I am undecided on which of 3 leaders I will be picking. Im not going to lie, there is a low probability that I will win and I will need a little luck with resouces to pull off a few of the strategies I am planning. Even though I have mapped out 4 different strategies for approuching this setting, I will still need to go over several things..... Regardless of everything, I plan on providing a challenege to the KC clan and hopefully I will force them to use every tactic and form of team work imaginable...... I only hope that KC will be able to gather the troops required for such an Epic battle.... Even though the challenege has been accepted, and I have the word of several prominent KC clan members who promise me a game and my quick demise, I still have doubts that KC will be able to stay true to its word and man up when the time comes. Incase, by some miracle I do pull out a victory, I will try to video tape the whole event and reveaall of the unknown and complex strategies I used in order to achieve victory, plus I will probably be releasing it on you tube or something. GL to me -

there s no way that a 17 man team can win vs some1 being allone if they r seperated on continents or islands.
They ll tech so horribly slow, MGT should be easily able to be in space before they even think about teching astro or even carvells to find others.
This i find the setting which makes me able to win is SP style.
MGT had his chance to prove his skillz in a 1 vs 2 vs MUD and died badly.
As I said to mll, participate in Ironman and u can prove your epic skillz in kinda fair settings

OK im confused, why would the 17 research slower then the 1?
Why is research in teamers so fast? Because if you have say 3 players on your team you research cost is less then trippled.
Also if this is on say a large map on conts it means the 17 will only have like 6 cites each, this means next to no maintiance, 17 beucracys, 17 heroic epic, lots of science adamies, 17 cites with that 8 free gold, every wonder in the game, 17 oxfords (can you gift cites for this purpose?), if you do get to the sapce race you can build it in like 4 turns, everyone take one componet.
Maybe im missing something? Even on conts the 17 has a HUGE advantage. Sure you cant use great people quite as effectivly but this seems totally dwafted by the advantges IMO

Hehe, I remember doing this is starcraft... Would play 4v1, 5v1 or 6v1 vs my friends (back in the day we played on netcafes, this was back when internet was only available through modem, which kept disconnecting after a couple of hours). It would only work if the others didn't rush me though. I beat them a couple of times using protoss and mass scouts. But that was only because they let me cannon rush them.
So the KC tactic should be fairly simple, rush his ass off !
